LSU has added another experienced piece to its defensive line as former Ole Miss defensive tackle Zxavian Harris has committed to the Tigers, according to multiple reports.

The 6-foot-8, 330-pound Harris played four seasons at Ole Miss, including last year under current LSU head coach Lane Kiffin. He started all 15 games in 2025 and finished the season with 58 tackles, nine tackles for loss, and three sacks, along with an interception, four pass breakups, and a blocked kick.

Harris signed with the New Orleans Saints as an undrafted free agent following the 2026 NFL Draft but never practiced with the team while recovering from offseason foot surgery. The Saints waived Harris from the NFI list earlier this month. A recent Louisiana court ruling opened the door for Harris and other players from the 2022 recruiting class to return for a fifth season of college football.

Harris becomes the latest veteran addition for LSU, joining former Notre Dame EDGE Junior Tuihalamaka and former Ole Miss tight end Dae'Quan Wright, who is also expected to join the Tigers after being waived by the Cleveland Browns.

THIS....when trent Richardson got released from the Colts, saban had him running scout team as a comp to LF7 in prep for the LSU game... no one cried then.. who yall think taught lane how to navigate the system?? The same guy that taught kirby that when your players commit crimes and speed, deal drugs, rape and murder its totally reasonable that should be playing saturday while investigation takes place. "If we quit on the players and kick them out they never learn..." Saban taught these coaches how to work the system. And now we got one coaching us LETS GEAUX

So he was with the Saints and he gets to go back to college now? Does the NCAA have any rules at all anymore?

The NCAA has the same rules they have always had….the courts and their crooked judges just prevent enforcment .

Absolutely false. The 5 for 5 was just put in place. The rules have constantly changed and the NCAA has no one to blame besides itself.

This is a singular year where kids got granted 5th year after they had decided to already go the pros. They weren’t given the info yet. It won’t happen after this year now that the players know about the 5 for 5 rule
