The fallout from Lane Kiffin's departure from Ole Miss to LSU apparently got even crazier than previously known.

Walker Jones, executive director of the Grove Collective, recently revealed that the FBI came through the Ole Miss football facility to check for potential listening devices during the chaotic transition after Kiffin left for Baton Rouge. Per The Daily Mail:
quote:

'We actually had the FBI come through and walk the building for bugs and for everything. We knew kind of what was in Baton Rouge, and we knew how they operated.

'I remember getting on my knees and looking underneath the desk, like checking for, is there some sort of bug in my office? Somebody was like, "What are you doing?" I'm like, "You just trust me. You don't know this guy like I did".'
Jones said Ole Miss was extremely careful with sensitive information while several staff members who were eventually heading to LSU remained in Oxford for the Rebels' College Football Playoff run. The program reportedly used separate text threads and staff meetings and avoided putting certain information in writing.

The concerns came amid fears that Kiffin and his new LSU staff could attempt to recruit players away from Ole Miss once the transfer portal opened.
quote:

'What people don't realize too is half the staff was going to LSU, so we literally had to have two different text threads, two different staff meetings. We had to ask coaches to leave the room.

'We had to no hall room conversations, nothing written down, nothing written on the grease boards in the office, because half the staff, we literally were going to be competing against.
Ole Miss coach Pete Golding addressed the story Monday, clarifying that the school wasn't actively hiring the FBI for assistance during the transition.

Not sure which is more ridiculous, calling the FBI or telling everyone about it. They are just a bunch of clowns.

Yet you LOVED HIM for years….
Why take the coaches back since you know what was in BR? According to the OM slingblade locked in homer, Kiffin and his offensive staff had nothing to do with their success anyway…

'I remember getting on my knees and looking underneath the desk, like checking for, is there some sort of bug in my office? Technically it was Pete’s desk and he was sitting at it when I crawled under there.

Actually sounds reasonable, to me. Everyone in the room is getting paid in excess of a million dollars, and half of them are going to a competitor. It matters that much….

So did they hire the FBI to come in or didn’t they? One says they did and another says they didn’t. Totally all Kiffin’s fault though….
