LSU starting left tackle Tyree Adams had tight-rope surgery on his ankle this week and could miss the rest of the season, head coach Brian Kelly revealed during his radio show on Thursday.

Adams suffered his injury during the Vanderbilt game last week and was replaced by DJ Chester.

Kelly said Monday that the plan was for Chester to replace Adams against Texas A&M, but during his radio show on Thursday night, Kelly said that true freshman Carius Curne will get the start at left tackle instead.

Curne has played in three games this season and started at right tackle in the loss to Ole Miss.

At least Cairns seems to have a mean streak and he’s more physical than anybody else on the line!

This 100%. And in this game it’ll take every bit of mean-streak this team can muster.

Kelley says he thinks they've found a fix for this. Unfortunately it isn't just one thing. So I don't forsee any quick "fix"

No pun intended, right? Chance of rain 60%, increasing to near 90% by end of game. Winds at 16 mph with temps in the 60s.

Not in Tiger Stadium. Chance of rain...NEVER!

I'm afraid it's too little too late. I like that Curne is going to start at Left tackle instead of Chester. But the offensive line problems should have been addressed and fixed prior to the season, not after 7 games. The Offensive line problem is the root of all of it. All our problems stem from the offensive line.. No running game, no pass protection, defense left on the field too long leading to injuries.

You have information that they DIDNT try to fix it before the season? Cmon. And yes, it is the root of it all.

And not helped that our QB is not dynamically gifted as a mobile runner.

Kelly could tell me the sun will rise in the east tomorrow morning and I wouldn't believe him at this point.

Took 7 games to figure this out CBK?

Run the ball behind Curne right at their DE. Play to our strength and his weakness

Brian Kelly is walking a tight rope on this season.

Likely 7-5 or even 6-6. Would be shocked to see them play four Q’s in Loosa. Stranger things have happened. Back to the old days of praying for a Bama loss

Zalence Heard should’ve stayed. Would have been a baller. The OL has no ballers. Just mummies

Does it really matter? Seriously

Curne seemed to have the most upside but for whatever reason coaches refuse to play him. Yes he will have freshmen moments but I would really like to see what he brings to the table. At this point, lets see what we have.

TIL there is such a thing as tightrope surgery.

Adams won’t get his job back, he better learn RT or LG. Curne will grow every snap he takes. He’s already as good as Adams if you ask me.

Also leaves Chester in case someone goes down. He can almost play every position on the line

Could the O-line get any worse?
