i feel like we're chasing lazy choices instead of being aggressive and not afraid to hire an up and comer that has a hungry desire to be here right now.

This strategy to me suggests they want someone that can come in and win now. You just had what you thought was the best options (on paper) come in and fail. Now you have to pay a shitload of money you let him go. You don't do that for an up and coming coach and take that risk. They want to at least be in the playoff every year. Not saying they don't have other guys on their list; these are obviously their Top 3. They will throw what they can at Kiffin and if he says no, they will move on down and save money as they do.

Another coach from Notre Damn would be an unpopular move to the majority of the fans in my opinion.

It would, but I don't believe he would leave. And why should he? Damn near have a guaranteed spot in the playoff every year.

But last year was the first year LSU got serious about NIL and the portal. And once they did, it wasnt close.

This is true. Even Kiffin himself mentioned this.
Why? Kiffin is the top choice. But you gotta have a backup if the man says no.
Profit share might prevent the current players from leaving allowing the NIL money to fund from transfer portal and high school. Now how much can they afford to do year to year is another story. I remember in the press conference leading up to our game against him, he mentioned how one of our defensive players receives more than a few of his players make combined. Maybe they can afford to pay guys but not in the way in which we could. And depending on the situation and the buy-in that could change. Just curious what they're willing to guarantee him in yearly NIL funds to work with.

If Auburn is planning on announcing a coach after the Iron Bowl, I'm guessing he's their target. Makes sense in a lot of ways, but in order for it to work, they gotta give him significant resources. And have the backing of the boosters unlike when they got Harsin or it won't work.

Hell Jerry Jones too. Just don't get it.

I don't think LSU was seriously looking at Napier so not sure why Florida overspent.

I personally think Napier wanted to be here and was hoping they called him. I think Florida didnt want to take any chances and gave him an offer he couldn't refuse.

Good luck getting us to feel bad for a guy that we are paying multi millions of dollars

What does money have to do with feelings? So a person makes a lot of money and they're suddenly inhuman? They're not allowed to have feelings, show emotion etc. Having money isn't the cure all for everything. It makes you financially secure, but that's all.

I appreciate Nuss for sticking with LSU when he didn't have to. Some of you are critical about the transfer portal and players leaving for money and not being loyal to a program while you had a guy that chose to be loyal when he didnt have to be. I do feel bad for him for the sake of wanting to come back and win a championship and not have things work out the way you want. With that being said, because you're loyal doesn't mean you accept bad play. Nuss simply hasn't played well this season. Whether it's due to injury, lack or preparation during the season or work in the offseason, his play has dipped significantly. Now much of it has to do with the offensive line which is what it is at this point.

Throughout his career Nuss has shown flashes of great but struggles with reading defenses and often guesses instead of making quality reads. This usually improves when you make the conscious effort to get better. When you have a new core of WRs, you work with them in the offseason and build that relationship and timing with them. Work on how to read defenses better through VR or film. You have to put in the work to fix the holes in your game, and that's something I feel he didn't do for whatever reason. And for that reason, I'm ready to see a change. Nothing against the person, just the player.
Remember when it was said that Landry didn't like rewarding mediocrity. Sounds to me like he's not wanting LSU to fit the bill for this one even though they have the ability to do so. Maybe just negotiate how he will receive the money but just give him the damn money and move on.

Remember that it was the BOS who approved this contract. If they had issue with the buyout, they never should've accepted it. You just don't assume everything will work out and go on about your business. You hope things work out, but protect yourself financially just in case it doesn't. At this point, honor the contract and move on. But simply the fact of calling him bluff and allowing the suit to go through is crazy. Just simply allowing this makes LSU and the athletic dept look really bad yet again.

It could be that Landry doesn't think he's doing anything wrong, but again the optics look bad because well we can't get out of our own way.
He should've been fired earlier in the season for it to truly make a difference. It's too late now and you are what you are now. All you can do is play the best 5 you have right now.

Nuss is softer than Myles. He should never again see the field as a Tiger

Well he learned how to prepare from him. But wanted to be critical of Jayden and how he prepared.

Curne has a hell of a lot to learn about football. I think he has ability but mentally he's no where near ready

Well he's a freshman so yes he still has a lot to learn. Just had a sorry arse coach.

Pathetic all around. Think we need a new coach

Well we technically don't have one right now so lol. Can't just get a new interim. Not how that works. We are what we are at this point.

Pull play calling from atkins and let rattay have a shot.

Yea i see why FSU let him go now.
quote:

I'm now convinced he has a contract condition to play him if he's healthy. He's played all season like he has no shot of getting benched and it shows.

Exactly.
I would really love to see what his contract says for him to not get taken out. Has to be something there because this is crazy. Never seen someone regress like this. He has zero rhythm with his receivers (almost like he never really worked with them during the offseason). He still can't read defenses or go through his progressions fast enough. He's in year 5. This is crazy.
I dont think thats it. I think Nuss is getting the play in. His problem is that he's unsure about the defense and the protection. He's not comfortable with the call and he uses a TO. He's done it way too much to be an issue with getting the call in.
I dont give a shite who it is. And i'm a girl, an avid LSU fan and alum. I'm the type that say what you gotta say direct (no social media bs etc.) Just too much bullshite going back and forth about shite that's already happened. I dont agree with RC's takes a lot and often feels he goes too far with a lot of it. But so does Stephen A and the other pundits out there.

Fehoko hasn't been this vocal about this shite and suddenly he has so much to say. I get he's trying to build a platform and I feel some of this shite now is just an opportunity to do it. He has his right I just question the timing.

Just a lot of negative press out there as of late and what does it stand to talk about shite that's in the past. It's happened. It's done. It was shite then and it's even shite now to keep talking about it.
