This Brian Kelly era came to a quick end on Sunday night after the University decided to fire him eight games into his fourth season at LSU.

Kelly met with the team on Sunday night and was back at the LSU Football Facility early Monday morning to clean out his office.

Later in the day, Kelly and his wife were spotted having lunch at Superior Grill, which was likely his last meal out in Baton Rouge before he hit the airport on Tuesday.

This is a simple comment that will get laughed aside but couldn’t be closer to the truth. Dude checked out 2-3 years ago.

That game was the highlight of Brian Kelly's career at LSU! Had a lot of us fooled after that game thinking that there would be more to come! Did not happen, not even close!

Why are people so obsessed with having to see him at 5am, eating, and flying out? Leave him alone and move on with your own lives.

He couldn't wait to leave because you are all spoiled.

Too bad Woodward wasn't on that same plane with him.

Stupid comment. Stick to the job you are already terrible at.

Woody has not been all bad. Mulkey and Johnson were really good hires.

You're the one with the stupid comment. All Woodward is good at is leading the country when it comes to schools being saddled with huge buyouts.

This man is a brilliant criminal or an absolute buffoon that stumbled into a fortune. Not sure which yet.

One thing I do know - whoever created and those that approved his contract should be fired with prejudice.

Always thought his office seemed a bit lightly decorated on the finebaum show. Maybe he hadn't planned on being here a decade

Easily one of the worst LSU football hires ever. Zero fit and it showed.

Curley Hallman coached here. He isn't the worst. For those too young to remember, Hallman's tenure:

1991: 5-6
1992: 2-9
1993: 5-6
1994: 4-7

Curly was bad, but LSU football wasn't where it is now. Expectations were not nearly has high. BK utterly failed.

Kelly's problem was simple he could never hire good coaches. He spent 4 years changing coaches.

Poor guy looks absolutely crushed under the weight of all that money he stole from Todd Graves and the slackjaws of Louisiana.

Didn’t have much stuff to take other than all his championship trophies and SEC coach of the year plaques.

He's headed to Martha Vineyard I thought?

Maybe for a bit. MV isn’t for the faint of heart over the Winter. It would be pretty private I guess though.

Oddly, there was no mention of his record as LSU coach!
