UPDATE: Desmond Ricks has committed to Texas A&M.

Alabama freshman defensive back Desmond Ricks officially entered the transfer portal on Monday night and plans to visit LSU this week, according to 247Sports.

He also plans to visit Texas A&M.

Ricks is a former five-star prospect from IMG Academy and was rated the No. 2 cornerback in the country for the class of 2023. LSU, Alabama, and Florida were his top schools during his high school recruitment before he signed with the Crimson Tide.

The Chesapeake, Va. native appeared in two games for Alabama this past season.

Welp you can take LSU out of the future visits. Apparently Ricks is all about the money.

So he jumped in 3 days after Bama hired their coach. I hope he is liking Baker and his coaching ability. We are in dire need of DL and DBs

Corey is a DB coach. Loyalty should be rewarded. When he left he was one of the highest paid DB coach in college football
for a reason. Everyone was ecstatic when Kelly was hired and Wilson came back, while Codey was still on staff. That spelled Championship and a locked Louisiana border. Corey’s loyalty was not rewarded. His contribution was not fully appreciated. The disappointment over his departure was only whispered, because Kelly needed to create his culture, which is Corey’s culture. “Love and Live LSU football!” Hopefully, there can be a meeting of the minds to get Corey and his brand back. The recruits and their families are screaming for it.

Loyalty should only be considered in the event of a tie. Whatever happened to qualifications and skills? Call me old-fashioned. Sentimentality has sunk many a well-intended ship. If he's the most qualified, then great. If not, onward...

The only thing I saw about Corey Raymond's departure to Florida was that Raymond wanted the DC job. If this is true, and I am NOT saying it is true, this would be a matter of contention for management at LSU. Raymond was a big plus for LSU for years. Disgruntled coaches are not was we need.

CR never coached anyone up… that was our gripe with him. You people have the memory of a goldfish.

The funny part is I’ve seen a few articles, including Bleacher Report, that say he’s the little brother. They don’t even bother to actually fact check.

I was wondering there’s still this convoluted rumor BK going to Michigan if Harbough leaves for the pros. A conspiracy theory if there ever was one. BK is recruiting 5 stars left & right, recruiting the portal hard, doesn’t have to compete with another state school, gets paid handsomely, hired three of the best coaches on defense & basically has everything he dreamed about while at ND like great facilities. Has the best stadium & fans in college football & now a better chance of winning a NC at LSU than Michigan ( because staff & players by the boat loads will be leaving). I believe BK will be a Tiger till he retires.

That’s a smug UM fan base rumor. They’re so similar to Texas, it’s uncanny.

Given LSU's need at DB he will be a starter.

that's why he's visiting. Need is desperate at DB and that's what the staff is promising.
