The LSU 2018 recruiting class suffered a big blow on Thursday night when outside linebacker/defensive lineman Adam Anderson from Rome, GA announced his de-commitment from the Tigers.

Anderson, a four-star prospect, and the No. 1 overall outside linebacker for the class of 2018 announced his de-commitment via Twitter.

LSU now has 20 verbal commits for the class of 2018 with the departure of Anderson.

It's obvious what the problem is: it's these new uniforms! Make it stop haha

Well that means one more is gone with Adams. Don't think they make a deal with 3 from Georgia and keep low guy on list. Griffin got his offer because of his 2 buddies.

What decisions should we respect and which should we not since they are opposing?

Maybe Coach O needs to rethink these package deals. They rarely workout- to many potential issues.

Commitments mean nothing....cause they aren't bound to their word. And the whole canned Twitter response is played out. "I'd like to thank (insert school)....but after much prayer.....it's in my best interests..... Newsflash....it's in everyones best interest for you to keep your mouth shut until you can stick to your word

Commitments still mean a lot. A couple bad apples we have every year.. what about the other 20 who have stuck with LSU and will end up tigers. Anderson was a decommitment threat the day he committed and everyone knew that!

On to the next one. You'd have to be an idiot not to want to play LB for Aranda. Its an NFL golden ticket.

Another of many immature recruits who have no idea to say what you mean and mean what you say. Good riddance

He will be committed to LSU again. If he doesn't, "well bye". He will miss the best college football there is.

Why all the negative comments? This happens every year. He'll take his visits and get catered to by some of the top universities in the country. He's a 4 star, he's put in the work, and he's earned it! LSU was and has been the school that he wants to go to. LSU just has to keep he press on this kid (Which Coach O will do!),let him take his visits, and he'll ultimately commit to LSU. Darrius Guice did this too. He decommitted from LSU, took his allotted official visits, and then signed with LSU. R-E-L-A-X! He'll be in purple and gold soon enough!

You summed it up perfectly, Mouche337. No need to panic. Everything will play on NSD. Until then, the kids have their fun and we have something to talk about. Nothing more, nothing less!

jdrn21 you're to seeing, the big picture. This kid was barely in HS when he committed. He committed with his heart. As he got older he realized that if you're firmly set to commit to a school, other universities won't bring you in for official visits because they don't think they have a shot at landing you. So he decommitted. Now some of the other major universities will bring him in for officials because they feel they have a shot. This happens with almost all HS athletes and it happens every year. This guy still has another full year of HS before he's off to college. Let him enjou all the officials he's entitled to. Like I said, he's earned it. As long as Coach O and the rest of the LSU staff keeps the press on, this kids heart won't sway and the heart always wins!

The "long talks" and "hours of thought" should go in to the process before committing. If you aren't completely ready to completely shut down the process, don't commit anywhere.

Perfect example of the flaws of the early committal process
