I think signing Butler is less importance than it was last year. With Lattimore and the emergence of Crawley, PJ, and the possible return of Breaux, no need to spend big on Butler when the draft should give us what we need there. Landry would be great, but will also want big money. I am curious to s...
You’re right. I don’t know why they traded him. He’s always been very efficient. Last night he looked like Houdini, the way he avoided being sacked and completing the passes downfield under duress. Very impressive! And now for his reward: A date with the Goat!...
Agreed. The Saints simply had too many injuries to overcome. They need to be at full strength and win home field advantage throughout the playoffs, just like in 09’. And just like then, they will advance to the Super Bowl. That’s the winning formula folks! I too, am excited to see our offseason move...

I believe that falls on Dennis Allen....
O-line is solid, but definitely needs depth at Center, LT, and Guard. Strief will hopefully back up Ram, solving that problem. Defense is above average, If Healthy! Depth is needed at all positions, as this unit incurres the majority of injuries each year. All of these things are doable in this offs...
I don’t put too much stock in Breaux returning to form. That said, pass on Talib. There are younger, cheaper options available. I think the Saints now see that’s the way to go. Instead of getting burned by overpaid, washed up FA! Let Jeff Ireland continue his magic and we’ll get what we need!...

Because only 3 on your list were actually on the field for the playoffs, and Mauti and Teo aren’t really starters. A stud LB can transform a defense! Just ask the Giants how they felt about Lawrence Taylor? I know we need another receiver, but a good TE can cover that need for us as well. ...
Think of it this way. Did you really expect the Saints to be in the NFC Championship game at the beginning of the season? Of course not! Neither did anyone else. They far exceeded expectations and won the division plus a playoff game! Another good offseason, and they will be the team to beat next ye...

re: Arden key must be drafted

He compares favorably to Mingo and will probably go in the first rd. Just not to the Saints. SP and Co. are absolutely sold on players from Ohio State, and given their success during Payton’s tenure, keep em coming. I don’t see them taking Key, but someone will. On paper, he’s a superstar. But games...

re: I think I found our answer at TE

Graham or Fumagalli for me. Graham is proven, especially with Brees. So, if he can humble himself, and conform to what SP tells him to do, this would pay immediate dividends. And don’t break the bank on him, either. If that doesn’t work, I think Fumigalli would be a perfect fit with Brees, although ...

Brees For MVP!

Posted by Lexman1 on 1/21/18 at 6:07 am
I am officially launching a campaign for Drew Brees: 2017 NFL MVP! I know with the more balanced offense this year, Drew didn’t have to air it out as much. But take him away and the Saints wouldn’t have finished.500. Moreso, he holds or will hold every single passing record in NFL history, yet has n...
True Dat! With that being the case, how bout our old friend Jimmy Graham? He’s available, and we need a TE! He would probably jump at the chance to be reunited with Brees!...
Exactly. And I hate to say it, but drafting a LT in the 1st rd. to protect Brees might be a good idea. Why? Because Armstead is very good, but very injured as well. I thought drafting Ramczyk in rd.1 was a mistake. Look how that worked out for us. He’s as solid as a rock. Unger desperately needs a b...

I like Landry, obviously being from LSU. The dude is a beast. Catches everything. I also like Amendola from New England. A very cerebral guy and a Super Bowl Champion! Brees would have another weapon to move the chains on 3rd downs. I think the team will release Sneed rather than give him a lucrativ...
Agreed. And don’t forget about Strief. I think Ramczyk has firmly established himself as the starter at RT, but Strief would be an excellent backup and would probably welcome that role. It would extend his career at this point and he’s always been a team guy and a leader, so he’s going to take a cut...
I say keep drafting these young players and start them early. Cut the overpaid veterans(or trade), and have money to extend Brees. The younger players are hungry to make a name for themselves, too. Plus, if they succeed, you have a valuable starter(like Lattimore and Kamara) under team control for 4...

re: Young Saints fans took it hard

No doubt. We’ve seen more than our share over the years. Hell, Atlanta named their Hail Mary the Big Bend, they beat us so many times on last second TD’s. This was all before Payton and Brees mostly, so I think we don’t expect that to happen anymore. But it sometimes does. Still a very good season! ...
That’s how you learn from experience, SuperSoaker. Give the kid a break! He’s a good player. Just had a brain fart. He’ll be fine....
Not to mention the hotel and tourism revenue from out of towners. The Vikings in the Super Bowl in their Home Stadium would actually be bad for business....
