LSU Lands UCLA Transfer Donovan Dent After Being Granted Fifth Year Of Eligibility

LSU basketball added a major piece to its roster on Friday as UCLA transfer guard Donovan Dent committed to the Tigers after being granted a fifth year of eligibility.

Dent averaged 13.3 points, 7.6 assists and 2.9 rebounds per game for UCLA last season after spending his first three years at New Mexico. He was named the Mountain West Player of the Year in 2024-25 after averaging 20.4 points and 6.4 assists per game.

The veteran guard will reunite with former UCLA teammate Skyy Clark, who also transferred to LSU this offseason.

It’s because people were concerned that there were only four players on the roster, doesn’t mean they’re anti-LSU. Regardless of what happened yesterday there were still only four players on the roster and that was a concern as it should be. We trust that Wade will sort it out.

I met the team's General Manager at an alumni function in Nashville last month.

When I brought up the roster only sitting at 4 players he did not seem the least bit concerned about it. Just an FYI.
