Former LSU ace Kade Anderson made his highly anticipated MLB debut with the Seattle Mariners on Saturday night against the Chicago Cubs.

Anderson pitched 5 innings, allowing three runs on five hits while striking out five. The 22-year-old left-hander was impressive through the first five innings before running into trouble in the sixth, when the Cubs hit back-to-back home runs.

Seattle eventually rallied for a 5-4 walk-off victory in the ninth inning, getting Anderson off the hook for the loss.

The Mariners selected Anderson with the No. 3 overall pick in the 2025 MLB Draft after he helped lead LSU to the College World Series championship. He dominated Double-A this season with a 10-1 record, 1.06 ERA and 135 strikeouts over 93 innings before getting called up directly to the majors.

First K was Bregman and first HR was off Bregman. The Tiger vs Tiger show.

They didn’t share that the first HR he gave up was to Bregman. That was kind of rude of Alex. I thought it was a very good first outing for Anderson. I’m putting Seattle on my watch list(only when Kade is pitching).

I regret to inform you that isn't Gavin Guidry. I see the semblance, though.

They kept him in there 1 inning too long. He was pumped up about his 1st MLB start and hust ran out of gas. Kade was totally dominant until the last inning.

Gave up back to back solo hr with 2 out in the 6th and a would have been hr was robbed by Arozarena earlier. Solid mlb debut for Kade and his team got the win.

Cade gave up 1 run thru 5 innings. Got pulled in the 6th. Was in line for a loss but his team put up 3 in the 9th to win.
