Will Wade has landed a commitment from 7-foot French center Brice Dessert, according to College Basketball Insider Jon Rothstein.

The 23-year-old played in Turkey this past season for Andalou Efes and averaged 8.7 PPG on 80.6% shooting.

Dessert was cleared by the NCAA last season and committed to LSU over offers from Kansas, Auburn, and others.

Because it was far too late for traditional recruiting, Will Wade is doing what he can by going the international route. Basketball season is going to be more interesting than it has been in years.

Most relevant comment I've seen. Wade was forced to adapt his recruiting philosophy and he did. Recruiting for next year will be more conventional, although Wade may be making some contacts which will help him augment conventional recruiting in the future.

Ummmmmmmmm there haven't been ANY academic requirements in football or men's basketball for at least the last 30 years. Big time college sports are nothing but minor leagues for the pros.

This late in the recruiting process it seems if these players were good they would have already committed or signed with someone.

This one in particular says he was already cleared by the NCAA.
