Unfortunately government has already inserted itself in gambling. If they dont allow poker rooms, underground ones will make a comeback. Since they are illegal, it brings an element of crime that poker rooms don't have due to them being able to hire security among other benefits.

That is a terrible take. Alcohol is overall net negative, but it is still allowed. People have all kinds of addictions, such as food, social media, video games yet we allow people to over indulge in those.

Your view is that more people should illegally gamble underground which causes an increase in crime. Once again, terrible take.

The Lodge and other poker rooms dont take a rake. They make money on daily/weekly/monthly/yearly membership fees and an hourly rate ranging from $10 to $14. I live in DFW and play at two different poker rooms. The good ones all have security and are well lit. Pushing people to go back to underground poker rooms will increase crime and lower taxable money.

This happened a few days ago and no one has been arrested, they just shut down the Austin location. The San Antonio one is still running last I read.

Should've went to the store, bought a bunch of pig feet and thrown it at them.
