Stephen Lew-USA TODAY Sports
Former four-star recruit Brandon Rachal has announced that he will be transferring from LSU after just one season in Baton Rouge.

The Natchitoches, LA appeared in 27 games as a freshman last season, averaging 4.4 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 15.9 minutes a game

He missed the final two games of the 2017-2018 season due to a school suspension but head coach Will Wade said in March that he expected Rachal to be back next season.

Rachal underwent foot surgery in the offseason this past May.

Richard, with his BR and LSU ties, is trying to get Brandon in Funroe. It would be a great fit IMO. Good luck young man

This was a wise choice for him. He'll start somewhere else.

Enjoyed your defense and hustle Rachal. I think we are going to miss that and your rebounding. Every team needs a guy like you that will do whatever the coach needs. I see you growing and improving and becoming a great player.

O needs to take notes. 4 star leaving the team cause more talent in front of him. We’re going to be a basketball school in the near future. Good luck kid.

That's just idiotic dude. LSU always has been and always will be a football school. That's not changing, no matter how great the basketball program becomes.

He may end up at Tech or Funroe and become their next superstar

Man, we have some serious talent on our roster for rachal to be transferring after his freshman season in which he saw some good playing time. Will wade has us stacked! Can't wait for basketball season! But football comes first, and I really can't wait for that!

Good luck, young man, I enjoyed how hard you played and the swagger you brought to the court. Whatever you do, find positve influences to affect your life choices, continue to play hard and success will be yours.

I'm a bit sad to see Brandon Rachal go. He has tremendous potential. I just wish he would have stuck with CWW so we could witness that development with LSU. Good luck Brandon.

Very good athlete, decent ball handler once he develops a perimeter game he’ll be tough. Good luck Brandon.

Must be making space for 4 star '19 recruit SF Aundre Hyatt, who is a great shooter and is trending/leaning LSU. He will commit somewhere Aug 10th and will reclassify to 2018 because he already graduated HS.

I saw great potential in Brandon, he played hard with lots of toughness. I am hoping after a close up look at the new players, he is leaving because of how good they are and not because he got in trouble again.

Well it must be true because typos never happen. Wow 15.9 points per game, quite the production.
