Former Bulldogs RB Nick Chubb Responds To Allegation Of Getting Paid By Georgia
Christopher Hanewinckel-USA TODAY Sports
On Monday, a tape surfaced of Georgia high school football coach Rush Propst saying Georgia head coach Kirby Smart and Alabama head coach Nick Saban are paying players using wealthy donors and boosters. One of the claims made, is that Georgia paid former star RB Nick Chubb a total of $180,000, divided into three $60,000 installments, to return for his senior year in 2017. Chubb, who now plays for the Cleveland Browns, responded to these allegations... We'll see if this gets further investigated or fades off into the SEC sunset.

Its not really that hard of a concept, is it? If 180k could entice him for a year, why wouldn't multiple millions entice him all the more? I understood his point clearly.

I don’t understand how saying if you needed money you would have gone pro is supposed to mean that you DIDNT get paid. Wtf?

He meant to say, If he needed more money

Is this your way of saying you didn’t go Pro because you didn’t need money because you got that $180k?

We’ll considering “Chubb’s” was in Happy Gilmore and Chubb played for UGA... he sounds like a rumor starting bitch...

nobody said that he "needed" money... but I don't know too many people who would turn down 3 payments of $60K

Money ran out. That's why he went pro.

He went pro because he played four years.

Alabama mentioned, therefore, it will be swept under the rug.

This. They will not even do an "internal" investigation and all will still be well. Bank it.

I was thinking the same thing. With that grammar I don't think he went to many classes.

He disnt need money because he got paid his Freshman, Sophmore and Junior Year too.

so he admits he was paid by Georgia?

So what is a player that got paid going to say? If they admit it, then they're likely circumventing the IRS as these payments are usually under the table. Also, if they admit to it, that will tarnish their legacy while at their school. No player will admit that they were paid.

"If I needed money I would have went pro"... that's the point, Georgia was paying him so well he didn't need money.
