re: Mulkey makes a hire

Are they going to pair Gabe with Messer? Or is Simmons and LeBeauf still in play?
That argument sounds logical on the surface, but it falls apart once you understand how college athletics actually operate in 2026.

First, the biggest flaw: money isn’t freely interchangeable the way you’re framing it. Schools can’t just strip millions from women’s basketball and dump it into men’s basketball without consequences. Because of Title IX, athletic departments are legally required to provide proportional opportunities and resources for men and women. So that “just cut women’s spending in half” idea? Not really an option without opening the door to lawsuits and federal compliance issues.

Second, you’re treating women’s basketball like a pure loss with no upside…which is outdated thinking. The explosion of stars like Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese has already shifted TV ratings, sponsorships, and media rights. Networks like ESPN are investing more because the audience is growing fast. That means women’s basketball isn’t just an expense, it’s an emerging revenue asset.

Third, your “just spend more to win” model is only partially true. Yes, money helps, but it’s not a guaranteed return. Schools dump millions into men’s basketball every year and still miss tournaments. Meanwhile, smart mid-majors with strong culture and development still break through. If it were purely about spending, the same 10 teams would win every year and they don’t.

Fourth, the revenue-share era actually makes your argument weaker, not stronger. Schools now have to balance entire athletic ecosystems not just one program. Over-investing in one sport while weakening others can hurt:
• compliance (Title IX)
• conference alignment
• brand value across sports
• long-term media negotiations

Finally, the idea that “every dollar not spent on men’s basketball hurts the product” ignores reality: diversified success drives athletic departments now. Women’s basketball, softball, gymnastics, these are growing media properties. Schools that invest early are positioning themselves for future deals, not just current margins.

Bottom line:
It’s not “men vs women” and it’s definitely not “just move the money.” College sports in 2026 is about portfolio strategy, legal balance, and long-term media growth not just dumping cash into one roster and hoping it prints money!
It’s a marketing expense! All of that is about to change tho! WBB is going to be profitable in the near future!
This better not be because of Wade!
Why do we keep doing this dumb shite! 12 will be back at LSU next year! How the Phuck would the coach from TT have any insight! People are just phuckin stupid!

Happening as we speak!!
You’re really smart aren’t you.
But guess what dumb arse! We won dat bish! Mulkey 4 Staley 3 that’s all I phuckin know!!
Lol.. what? This data is very easily debunked!
UConn, SC, Duke and USC are all much higher with just raw data. What are you using ESPN?
Lampley plays the 4. I haven’t heard any transfer rumors .. but that doesn’t mean it couldn’t happen. She’s far from home, and I’ve heard a certain former Tiger (Iowa’s coaching staff) has been in her ear lately.
She absolutely has the talent to compete in the SEC. She just needs time to adjust to the speed and physicality of the college game. I hope she stays …she’s got a bright future with this group

When both coaches have comparable talent, Kim has only lost once. The last five losses came with clearly less talented rosters here at LSU

With evenly matched talent, Mulkey is 4–5 against Geno.

For context, Staley is 5–10 against Geno.
So let’s stop acting like Mulkey is washed and Dawn is in some untouchable league of her own. That’s nonsense. Dawn may have the stronger program right now ..and she should after 18 years building it. But Mulkey still has the higher winning percentage and more national championships. From day one, she’s shown she can win big, even without the deepest roster. Statistically and historically, her résumé speaks for itself.
How was it not good for Morrow? She won a lot of games at LSU. She has a bigger player profile than any SC player during her time here. WTF are we even talking about here? Sounds like a bunch of Dawn Staley dildo riders is what it sounds like!
Ol miss should be good and tired coming off that Tennessee game Tuesday. This is a brutal week for them.
Kim still has more championships than she does! It’s ok to be in your feelins, but know what your talking about when you do.
Let’s really examine how she’s been able to land that talent … and who’s backing it. A lot of it aligned with the DEI push during the LMNOP/Black Lives Matter era. Once that slowed down, the strategy shifted to leveraging agent relationships, particularly through networks like Rich Paul’s.
That so-called “champions” tournament? It feels more like a coordinated showcase that benefits Staley’s program than a level playing field. Meanwhile, she’s been so focused on tracking what Kim is doing on the recruiting trail that she’s let programs like Vandy quietly rise. The landscape is changing, and whether she admits it or not, she is chasing Kim. That’s why LSU gets so much negative press during recruiting season.
You forgot apples person for the letter people.

This might be the dumbest post of the night.
Mulkey has more championships, a better winning percentage, and has won at every level she’s played or coached.
You don’t have to like her, but pretending she’s not elite is just ignorance.
She’s not “in the same class.”
She’s in a class by herself

They’re a completely different team without Paige..and a very beatable one at that. Michigan exposed that.
They aren’t worthy of an avoidance. They are overrated!
