European Couple Busted For Cheating At The London Marathon Thanks To Twitter
© Pool Photo-USA TODAY NETWORK
I don't know why you'd want to cheat in a marathon, but I'm sure there are smarter ways to do it than this...
quote:

Monika Czarnecka, 41, and her husband Piotr, 42, caused a frenzy after they were photographed wearing the same number (11250) on Sunday, October 3.

It later emerged that only Monika was authorised to take part in the event and that her husband, who could be seen running right beside her, had copied it so he could support her.

"This was my first marathon and I needed Piotr's support because I was worried sick that I wouldn't be able to finish it."

Her partner Piotr confessed that he was unable to obtain a place in the marathon after missing out on the ballot.

By the title, I thought 'cheating' was referring to a couple stopping during the race for some sexual activity off to the side...lol

So for all the marathon police out there. They didn't win or place so who cares at all? No one in the real world!

Runners have to be really talented or work for years to get a qualifying time for one of these races. He just photocopied a bib.

Some other Londoners had fish and chips last night, and a pint.

That isn’t really cheating. Had she got in a cab halfway through the race and re-entered somewhere else, that would have been cheating.

He didn’t win a spot in the lottery to participate in the race so he copied his wife’s bib to run with and support her. That’s cheating? They broke the entry rules but I prefer my cheaters to actually win the race.

Well that settles it for me. I am NOT going to compete in the London marathon. If they cannot protect the integrity of the race then I will not participate.
