Obando was found dead in her apartment on Valentine’s Day 2016. The Fort Myers News-Press notes that police considered the death suspicious from the start and ruled it a homicide two months later. The warrant for Joiner’s arrest in the unsolved case was obtained Friday.

Joiner, 33, played for Florida from 2004-2007, making him a Ron Zook recruit who played most of his career for Urban Meyer, who coached at Florida from 2005-10. Joiner was made a team captain by Meyer in his senior season. During that 2007 season, Joiner was arrested for breaking into the towing lot where his girlfriend’s car was being held.

Joiner was a team captain during the 2007 season. According to a New York Times article, he was roommates with Heisman Trophy winner Tim Tebow during his time at Florida.

It's really gonna be strange if we learn someday that Tebow is a deranged axe murderer. I'm not saying that he is cause I don't know.

Sure he was a thug from the get go. He was probably assigned to Tebow to get him straight. You can't fix stupid, though.

Can’t save everyone. It is sort of silly that people try to connect the dots vs someone committing a crime and Tebow knowing him 12 years ago.
