Impressive accomplishment but the stat is kind of obvious and a weird comparison. A team full of great players isn't going to lose often, and they're going to have many that go in the 1st round. Not rocket surgery.

Although that is extremely impressive I'm curious, how many of the 1st round picks would be considered elite NFL players? It seems that Bama gets a lot of name brand bias and sometimes the players NFL stats don't turn out to match the draft position. I imagine the same could be said for most big conference schools.

I think your argument runs counter to your point. By your logic, one could say “Saban gets subpar players drafted in the 1st round.” Wouldn’t that be a positive for Saban? Also, Saban doesn’t have much sway over players when they leave Bama.

Why is Larry so obsessed with Saban on a LSU website? How he parks? His hip? His draft picks? Let it go Larry.

Those guys made almost as much money in college as they did as first round picks.
