Tua Tagovailoa Shares Disturbing Story About How His Dad Disciplined Him After Bad Games
Marvin Gentry-USA TODAY Sports
ESPN ran a piece on Alabama QB Tua Tagovailoa and his father on Saturday prior to the SEC Championship game. In that video Tua shared how his dad disciplined him after his bad games...
quote:

Tua: If I don’t perform well, perform the way I’m supposed to, I’m going to get it after.

Rinaldi: When you say “I’m going to get it”, just be clear what you mean there, Tua.

Tua: Well, just know the belt was involved, and other things were involved as well. It’s almost the same with school. If I don’t get this grade, I’m going to have to suffer the consequences.

Yikes.

He needs to learn what to say and not say. Last week media asked him what saban said at halftime and he said he didn't pay attention

That’s why his dad probably had to use the belt. Pay attention!

well, to his credit, his dad has been the only person to beat Tua, so far, so there must be something to it...

I had a girlfriend in high school whose alcoholic mother would beat her if she didn't get straight As. She ended up valedictorian. She is now a crackhead with hep C.

Did you just admit having hep C? You take medication?

It's not too late for your father to start doing this in regards to your posts (unless he is dead of course, in which case, RIP).

You would think those beatings would toughen him up. Guess not. SAD.

Who didn't get beat with a belt as a kid?

I got my arse whipped many times, but never for "not performing well" in sports. I got chewed out sometimes, but I didn't get my arse whipped with a belt and "other things." $trange.

Y’all are fricking soft as they come if you have an issue with a father whipping his son when he was in elementary and middle school. That’s what’s wrong with kids these days. They have no consequences for actions. They never got whipped.

Consequences for not playing well on a football game? What a weird comment

I remember my 4th grade teacher, who happened to be the sister of NFL WR John Jefferson, breaking a very large paddle on my rear. Thing were different for us back then and why we respect authority unlike Millennials.

He's probably talking about when his dad saw some obvious lazy actions on the and off the field leading to bad results. I doubt like hell his dad whipped him if he saw him play his heart out yet didn't perform well. Same with school. Typically though when you actually try your butt off in HS or College you can overcome the other team. In the pros it's different. Sometimes the other team is just not going to lose that day. Sometimes you see that in college also. HS is generally about talent. This dude has talent so I doubt there were many teams who could dominate him if he actually tried.

That explains why he's terrified of getting hit. Soft as cotton.

I see nothing wrong with this. Kids today are too soft.
