Saban Wasn't Happy With Question About Bama’s Mekhi Brown Sideline Incident
© Butch Dill-USA TODAY Sports
All it takes is one wrong question from a reporter to make happy Nick Saban go to normal Nick Saban. On Tuesday, that question was about Alabama LB Mekhi Brown's sideline incident that involved him going after an assistant coach...

This is the reason Football has officials, only they did not apply the rules in this instance. Player should have been ejected for throwing a punch at the Georgia player! Then none of this emotion would have been carried on....

Alabama players have been getting away with things like this for several years. They play dirty and like a bunch of thugs. It's how Saban wants them to play because he knows he wouldn't win as much if they don't. He wants his players to intimidate the other players and playing dirty is one way to get that done. The officials are intimidated and too chicken crap to do their job. It really pissed me off that Georgia let them off the hook and practically let them win. That BS play calling at the end was about as ridiculous as I've seen. Alabama isn't better than most teams, they just dirtier. Saban is a little pudding and his players can't compete by playing by the rules and the refs are cowards. That's where college football has gone. It's sad.

Oh the officials are doing (or not doing) EXACTLY what they are PAID to do. People need to wake up to that fact or nothing will ever be done to fix things.

There was quite a lack of discipline when it came to this sort of thing during the game. Some personal fouls that *were* called, and others like the shoving of Fromm's head while he was still down, and a bunch of jawing... I was surprised to see this on Saban's team.

Nick should have been more political and positive. He should have said, "Our white guy (#42) saved the assistant coach's life. In a time where we have so many things to be happy about, it's kind of amazing to me that you'd pick out one small negative thing to ask about. Why can't you reporters see the good in stopping black on black crime!" FIFY Nick.

Since when is wanting to fight a coach "small and insignificant "? Any respectful coach would have sent him packing STAT!

ESPN is just as much to blame. If this happened with any other team they would still be showing it every 5 minutes.

That's for sure! You didn't hear that pompous Herbstreit or Fowler even go anywhere near the incident. They are so quick to preach on targeting fouls and concussions, but this was outright thuggery. Saban is an arse for trying to even downplay it. Of course, it didn't affect the outcome of the game! It sure affects the team, those who watch and enjoy college football, and those young people who are trying to learn how the play the game.

Keep those dudes on the team with no punishment. Yes, this will be the demise of Bama football.

Saban's not doing Brown or his staff any fahimvors. If he cared about them, he would have sent Brown to the locker room. He's just using the kid, and doesn't care about what happens to him later in life. And it shows his staff that any player, if they are good enough, can treat them like dirt. What a guy.

Melt much? I don't blame you as your team has officially become the undisciplined "Thug Life" team of the NCAA

Official? For real? Are the players all getting Thug Life apparel? That'd be sweet for real. Rolling in UA Thug Life gear..... Oh wait, my bad, we aint Miami.

"Coach, when your team is winning big, why do you bring a little negativity on a player when there is so much be happy about?"

All he cares about is winning...thats is all. How about the player that yell F... Trump prior to the game starting in the tunnel. Win at all cost is all he care about

He was yelling "frick Georgia". Even confirmed it after the game.

Hurts got benched because he wasn’t performing. #48 goes on a personal foul spree but gets to stay in the game because he’s contributing.

Honestly, this is one of those times when the coach is out to fricking lunch. That outburst was absurd and he should have been tossed

Brown shouldn't even been on the sidelines at that point. He should have been ejected when he swung at the Georgia player. Of course Saban didn't discipline him for either incident.

He punched a PLAYER, then punched a COACH, then apparently went back into the game. I had very little respect for the Gumps in the first place, but damn.

Went back into the game to commit a clothe line infraction (uncalled, of course)

I wonder if he punched saban what would have happened to him....

He would have gotten pummeled by the rest of the football team. I promise you there will be action taken. The player won’t discuss it and the team won’t release disciplinary action to the media.
