President Trump Called Nick Saban ‘Lou’ During Conference Call Last Night
© Matthew Emmons-USA TODAY Sports
President Donald Trump is backing former Auburn head coach Tommy Tuberville in today’s Republican runoff election in Alabama. On his call last night, he called Nick Saban ‘Lou’, confusing the six-time national champion with former Buffalo Bills and Denver Broncos head coach Lou Saban, who passed away in 2009. Per AL.com’s Mike Cason...
quote:

“Really successful coach,” Trump said, speaking of Tuberville. “Beat Alabama, like six in a row, but we won’t even mention that. As he said … because of that, maybe we got ‘em Lou Saban. … And he’s great, Lou Saban, what a great job he’s done.”

Saban is a Democrat, it's not like he's voting for Trump anyway.

Nick’s middle name is Lou. So technically Trump was correct ?????????

Apparently folks in this comment section have never called someone the wrong name. I've seen Saban forget the names of star players during interviews. Big deal.

Bama fans are really going to get tired of Trump pumping up Tuberville and Auburn this fall. Maybe enough to pull the lever for Bama grad Doug Jones!

Naw RCT, Bama and AU fans hate the news media, deep state, and far left way way way more that we hate each other and that is astonishing because that Iron Bowl rivalry is pure evil. So that should tell you something.

Wrong It will be Saban that loses the patriots and voters of Alabama upset with u of ala not firing Saban for playing politics with him promoting a democrat senator who then tried to do a coup on American and ala voters to try to stop their president voting to impeach him over nothing Tuscaloosa county voted for the auburn coach over sessions who did attend u of ala. so no the people are not turning on trump but instead u of ala for allowing Saban to cause so much division for his personal greed

Tampa Tiger 22 I really take severe umbrage with you calling me “an idiot.”. I graduated HS with a 2.1 GPA and although they didn’t let me walk on the stage to get my diploma because I didn’t write a term paper, I only had to go to 8 weeks of summer school to get my diploma after I plagiarized my paper. Then I scored a 53 on the ASVAB. I’m not an idiot dude don’t call me that again.

Probably had thoughts of Lou Holtz. Saban, Holtz both outstanding coaches, but only one coached the gumps...

I'm pretty sure he was thinking of Lou Saban, who was a head coach in college and the NFL for almost 4 decades.

Either he had a Biden moment, or that was a masterful troll.

He was trolling, you can tell because he mentioned how Tuberville beat da gumps 6 times. So, uh, yeah, uh, I do believe he was trolling.

Yes he was very upset at joe manchin who tried to do a coup on the voters to try to impeach trump over nothing .. so trump wanted his name in there so people will remember what Saban did

Lou Saban was an NFL head coach as late as the 1960's and no relation to Nick that I know of.

Lou Saban’s wife stated they were second cousins in a 2005 book.
