Alabama CB Maurice Smith Locker Gets Trashed After Telling coach Nick Saban He Wants To Transfer

According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Alabama CB Maurice Smith had his locker trashed after telling head coach Nick Saban he was transferring. Smith says Saban said he wouldn’t release him from his scholarship unless he transferred out of the Southeastern Conference.

On Friday, June 17, I arrived at the athletic facility locker room to find my locker cleaned out and all of my personal belongings in the trash (photo attached) underneath trash,” Maurice Smith wrote. “These personal items included my family photos, written goals, inspirational and sentimental items memorializing my deceased former friend, roommate and teammate, Altee Tenpenny, and items of personal value from my former teammates.

Smith even provided photos to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution that they did not publish, as well as this text message from a redacted source within the program..

If the kid wants to transfer, then let him transfer. Happens all the time. To trash his locker and throw his personal belongings in the garbage because he wants to transfer is petty and beyond classless.

Kirby raided Sabans coaching staff and flipped a recruit or two on his way over to UGA. I don't blame Kirby for going after the best, I don't blame Saban for being upset. The kid can transfer and play next year for UGA or play this year for an out of conference school. He wants a special exemption from the SEC transfer rule. Kirby and Mel have been tampering. Saban is not going to give Kirby and Mel a gift for playing dirty. I hate Kirby and Mel lead MO down this path. They are the ones that have put the kid in this position.
