Updated NFL draft scenario shows him as early-mid day two pick if he declares.
With the NIL payout it might make more sense for him to play a second year with the Tigers. I'd be all for that.
They also mentioned his relief pitching background as one reason his ball snaps like it does. He's made a few throws that had me wondering how the hell he saw it, and did it.
Can't wait for tomorrow. M I Z !

We want Mizzou to win. If Simmons guides Mizzou past Ole Miss with Chambliss and Texas with Manning all without Hardy, he shoots up the draft boards.
None of the other so called top QB prospects throw with the anticipation, accuracy and velocity of Simmons. They all have good traits, but none have them all like Simmons. Simmons only question is number of starts, but if he manages this gauntlet that includes 2 top prospects, then we will have a problem keeping him.

Why would he go to the draft if he can come back and try go help Missouri to win a National Championship?

He is command of the offense has answered all of the questions about his tape from last year. He has earned the right for the offense to flow through him instead of running the ball 45 times a game and throwing underneath.

And make millions vs. the rookie contract he would get.
If he announced he was staying we would have players flocking to MU.

Drink is a bright guy. Hopefully doesn’t over think the situation.

Perfect game for Simmons staying next year. Mizzou won, but Simmons needs more game consistency. He needs more starts to be the true weapon his talent shows he can be.

Spot on. It's weird how accurate he is on some throws, basically the entire FL game and then today he was off a lot.
He needs more time playing and he gets that at Mizzou.

He will be Trubisky 2.0 if he doesn’t learn more about the game as a starter than he will get this season.

I didn't care for today's passing game coordination at all.

Yep. He's got all the arm talent in the world, but his situational awareness is still a work in progress.
Hopefully he and his advisors are smart enough to realize he's going to get drafted even if he stays an additional year.
Both can provide money as well, but the NFL won't be giving him the live action snaps to improve his game.

And he throws into double and triple coverage multiple times a game.
He has gotten away with it so far, and threaded some passes for nice completions. So Far. Don't think that is a smart strategy against the more elite defenses we have coming.
It's only been 2 or 3 times a game, but in a battle against a top team, 1 or 2 interceptions can be all that's needed to turn the game.

HIs wind up where he drops his arm to throw is an obvious issue for the NFL. Any decent DE will cause a fumble with that motion.
I still want to see how well he runs because we really haven't seen him do that either.
If I was a scout I see a 4th round grade right now. He reminds me of Tua a little bit.

Given that Simmons is 6'4" with better pocket presence than Tua ... he'll grade out closer to mid-2nd or early 3rd round. Don't expect Simmons to be back, especially with Cayden Lee in his last year of eligibility ... but who knows.
Would rather see Sidwar get reps over Zollers ...

Lee can play 1 more. They get 5 now.

He is steadily climbing up draft projections.
Yahoo Sports has him going #6 to the Jets
Yahoo Sports Draft Projection
He just made the NY Times Top 10
NY Times.
If he takes care of the ball the rest of the way and keeps putting NFL throws on tape, some team will use a 1st round pick on him.
