The play was LEGAL and has BEEN USED BEFORE and deemed legal.
Y'all need to calm down, as does the SEC front office.

OUr coaches told the game officials, pre-game, that play was in the day's play book. The officials said, "OK".
The players and coached asked the official at the time if the alignment was legal. The officials said yes.
Also important, no players came on to substitute.
There was no reason for any experienced football person to think it was a substitution situation.

Finally, when a team's best receiver, who also had a hot hand that day, lines up wide - oh, I don't know, maybe a defensive back needs to pay attention to his assignments, and cover the other team's best receiver?
Nothing more than the visiting team blew its coverage assignment.

Now, the SEC front office owes OU a public apology for this little bit of libel.

Oklahoma Homer making excuses rationalizing an obvious questionable trick play. If this sort of ushering in to get Oklahoma to the playoffs, it will obviously result in a one-and-done situation where many scratch their heads wondering why Oklahoma was included in the field of 12.

FFS, the rule was cited in the PR and it's clear that OU got away with one. Just accept that your coach broke a rule in the hopes of a score and pulled it off...this time.

It wasn’t just that no call either. Refs blew several big calls in favor of Oklahoma in that game.

where's the officiating from the Birmingham crew/crickets ? why wasn't it reviewed and overturned? obvious snafu from the corrupt overlords in the SEC. these bastards can't be trusted. they must be getting their marching orders from Goodell !!

Because under current rules, if a flag is not thrown, you can’t review it into there being a flag…with the possible exception of targeting.

"with the possible exception of targeting"

Not possible, it's a fact. LSU has been hit twice with targeting in two games, with ridiculous targeting calls, by review officials when no flag was thrown on the play.

SEC officials are completely and utterly retarded. Why can’t the conference fix the annual bullshite from officials with better training?
