I thought Alabama had the exception roster size which allowed them up to 120 on scholarship . . .
I speak in jest, but it always seemed like that was happening there . . ....

We've seen freshman running backs at LSU make significant strides to help the team. If they have the skills for early impact, you simply don't pass that up. RBs don't last long in the NFL for a reason. If LSU can sell the fact that the RB will be a feature along with not leaving a potential pro futu...
re: LSU Five-Star Plus+ WR commit Dakorien Moore updates his recruitment…

Hopefully this will encourage other highly rated visitors with commitable offers to pull the trigger sooner than later; especially if the NCAA has another early signing period added (like with Men's Basketball)....

The reality of recruiting the very biggest stars. Just have to keep the pedal to the metal as if there never was a commitment. Hire more "consultants" to help behind the scenes appear seamless. ...
re: What are your expectations for McMahon’s third season?
Posted by Woodman on 3/7/24 at 12:26 pm
I believe they over-exceeded this season, so getting much more than two or so conference wins more than will be achieved this year is likely their ceiling....
re: How far does LSU move up in the women’s AP?
Posted by Woodman on 2/26/24 at 1:08 am
I've noticed how few SEC women's BB teams are ranked in the Top 25. Their present ranking pretty accurately reflects upon their strength of schedule....

Hopefully Keylan will also be there March 9th to lend support for the many recruits that are scheduled that day and to show as one in the Family....
re: Why Couldn't We Reel In Terry Bussey

Alumni can be people he knows who have been avid fans he's witnessed all his lives. They don't have to be wealthy alumni giving the school millions every year....

re: Big man
Posted by Woodman on 1/27/24 at 8:22 pm
They don't grow big men on trees. Either takes significant recruiting prowess or dumb luck (like the Naval Academy when they convinced a small forward named David Robinson to play for them)....
re: Emery Jones goes hunting

I'm in Western WA, but my time at LSU quickly let me appreciate the state's love for hunting and fishing in the sportsmans' paradise.

All kids are different. Different goals. Different Spirit. Different Strengths and Weaknesses. Dylan made a call that was painful to watch. His brother most certainly had his eyes wide open to observe the moment and what ultimately followed.
Keylan deserves his own stage to show what he brings ...

New title or not; the man deserves a healthy raise. The performances of the 2023 receivers was much better than 2022. Jayden Daniels would tell you that his receivers' play was a significant part of why he won the Heisman....

re: Recruiting Bussey.
Posted by Woodman on 1/21/24 at 11:10 am
We understand Bussey may want to play defense or offense. Look at the coaches on both sides of the field. Look at the future teammates. A slight difference in NIL for such an incredible athlete. If he was taught to look at the big picture, it is not unfathomable that he ends up in P&G....

re: Lance Heard...Has anyone heard (no pun) anything?

This sounds like a "chicken vs egg" scenario as concerns $$$ promises and timing to go into the portal. If my memory serves me correctly, one has to be in the portal before being approached by prospective suitors. Was there tampering going on that helped his family pushed him to take the leap?...
