He ain't going anywhere. ESPN GameDay legend Lee Corso, 88, has been a staple of CFB Saturday mornings for years. And he plans on continuing that for the 2024 season...
quote:

“I’m gonna be like that guy in Vaudeville,” Corso told Alex Kirshner. “They hook him around the neck, and they pull him off the stage as he keeps talking.”

Look, I like Lee a lot. He's been one of the best reasons to watch Game Day for decades but when I saw him on screen this past season, all I could feel was that I was witnessing elder abuse. He looks like an orange mummy and his reaction time is personally painful to watch. As much as Lee Corso has been a part of the college football family, it's time for him to step away. Maybe he could do something else with ESPN, like his own spot for 30 minutes a week, giving his take on the upcoming games. Outside of that, they need to replace him. It's time.

Good for him. Usually guys his age stop working and that rolling stone starts to gather moss.

I was hoping he’d leave for a permanent spot on The View.

Awesome news! Is there any chance Rece Davis would step down?..guess not

It would be better off with him making appearances for shorter segments than the whole show.

Yup that's it. Two segments. The first set and then the pick em segment.

I used to laugh when Lou Holtz dressed as a judge on gamedays night recap on fall Saturdays when ESPN did a jury segment on whatever happened that day in college football. Dude was clueless haha.

I hope he keeps going for another decade just to piss off all the people who want him gone.

I have no problem with it. The newer ones suck anyways. I miss Verne on CBS as well. And Jack Cristil doing MSU radio. Maybe it’s just nostalgia but to me the new class of sports shows and announcers don’t do as good of a job

They're terribly bland.

I have no problem with this. It’s hard to watch, but I’ll still take Corso over that jackass Pat McAfee who tries way too hard.

Corso is the embodiment of CGD. And I want him to leave because he's ruining the show.

Corso is GameDay. They should role out a new format when he does hang it up.
