ESPN's Greg McElroy Thinks Mississippi State QB Nick Fitzgerald Is The Best QB In The SEC
© Jasen Vinlove-USA TODAY Sports
Form Alabama QB and now ESPN college football analyst Greg McElroy was on the “Cube Show” Wednesday morning with Cole Cubelic of the SEC Network, where he got some attention dropping his pick as the best QB in the SEC right now: Mississippi State's Nick Fitzgerald...

He know something we don't? Thoughts on this?

Larry, you must not watch a lot of football. Nick Fitzgerald had stats equal or better than most QBs in the SEC last year, and set some school records (over Dak). He was not the reason we sucked last year, but will be the reason we're much improved this year.

It's quite possible. Fitz is a baller and has the intangibles to go with some very good talent.

Could've been an All-SEC blocking tight end if he would've walked on at LSU.

Everybody knows that LSU's backup QB is always the best in the SEC.

Fitz was straight ballin towards the end of the season.

Have you stopped watching Paige juggle golf balls off her rack yet? Fitzgerald is 6'5" while looking like a gazelle outrunning DBs. Maybe a future 1st round NFL pick. No shocker here, keep handicapping the instagram whores!

I don't see the big deal. I think at the end of last year he was at least in the Top 3-4. With Mullen reputation with QB's I could very easily see him as #1 in the SEC. Most of these Internet pages like College Spun, SB Nation, Fansided, etc. are a bunch of hacks who know nothing about the sports they write.

Who would be his competition? League is weak at QB again. Maybe Malik Zaire?

Wtf has Zaire done to be considered the best?

Nothing. It was a question and is the exact reason why I included the word maybe.

Austin Allen maybe? I mean he was easily the best passing qb in the league. And hurts was a better runner

He probably is.

Fitz has all the tools. He could be a really good player this year

Is there another Purdue washout we could get as an upgrade instead of Fitzgerald?

Most people consider him pretty good. Not sure why this would be that shocking.
