So what’s honestly up with this one? Are we honestly not going to take him or do we think Kirby is wanting something like contrition from him before we take him?

We don't know what Kirby is thinking. We don't know what Evans is thinking. We don't have a clear definition of the issues. I keep checking here and there for updates but learn not a whole lot.

This is the exact truth, if anyone actually knows what is going on and not just hearsay please do tell

Seems the most plausible issue is Evans could have some i's to dot and T's to cross wrapping things up with his HS (grades, ACT, SAT, incomplete forms...etc) and possibly told the staff he was good to go when he wasn't. Kirby could be holding his paperwork until he can get something done but they won't share that publicly. Just a theory of mine FWIW.

Depends on what rumor you want to believe in

I think it’s academic myself. CKS and staff knew he had personal issues and will need some tough love...I can’t imagine something new popped up...but OU’s Rattler is a prime example of how kids will still act like kids when they have a life changing opportunity in front of them.

Are you sure you’re not thinking of Malik Henry? Rattler is poised to take over the helm next year at Oklahoma.

It’s probably his ACT score. The game before the 6A championship, he missed the first half bc he was taking the ACT. Took the test, then played the second half. Doubt his head was much into the ACT.

Evans signed LOI
LOI was submitted
Evans got cold feet, asked to be released
UGA is in process of granting release
Evans will not be a Dawg
A&M Looking like the winner of the Evans Sweepstakes

Evans signed LOI
LOI was submitted
Evans screwed up again, begging for forgiveness from UGA (The reason for his whole Deion Sanders interview)
UGA is debating whether they should take
Evans will be a Dawg eventually

I was talking about Rattler. He was kicked off his HS team despite the coach and family trying to cover it up by saying he had a torn ligament in his knee. The QB1 document-series was following him at that time. He had a bad case of the off field dumbass.
Malik Henry was just a train wreck.

IF true....would we lose that spot?

We only lose the spot if Evans were to show up on campus enrolled in classes today. From everything I've read and been told he will not show up or enroll in classes.
Therefore we should get the spot back.
Evans is no longer a Dawg and barring something absurd(which seems to be the norm with him) he will never be one in the future.

This is clearly about the cell phone incident where Evans got in a second altercation with one of his coaches, and that Kirby found out about the extent of it only after Evans had sent in his LOI. Logic then says that Evans lied to Kirby about the extent of the altercation or that the altercation was significantly worse than what was originally told.
As a result, Evans is being punished for not being honest and forthcoming, on top of having a second altercation of severe insubordination with a coach.
And Kirby effectively owns his arse now since the LOI is in and there's not a thing Evans can do about it.
If Kirby releases him from his LOI, we lose the spot, and I just don't see that happening. I think Kirby is teaching him a hard lesson, but ultimately Evans will be on campus.

If he comes in with a bad attitude, then we might be better of just losing the slot up front instead of going through another drama sequence like we did with Fields.
Honestly, I'm half way hoping ne never sent in his LOI allowing us to fill the spot with someone who actually wants to play for Georgia.

I am simply sharing what UGA insiders and beat writers have discovered. I wanted Evans just as bad as everyone else but from what the guys who get paid to report on this stuff are saying, he will not be a dawg.
IF you have followed Evans recruiting in the slightest bit you would know to throw logic to the wind. The kid changes his mind like his underwear.

Rattler got caught getting it on during school. Not exactly the same thing.

No reason to force a kid who doesn't want to be here. It only spoils the team chemistry and it has bad reverberations throughout the rest of the recruiting world. Future recruits wouldn't look so kindly at UGA for essentially holding Evans hostage when he had a change of heart.
One star recruit does not make or break a football program but forcing him to play for UGA/enter transfer portal only has negative effects.

no denying that kids talent, its been the most insane recruitment i can remember insofar as at least 4 schools were completely sure he was coming there.
