That doesn’t sound like the case to me. If he got cold feet, I feel like we’d have a lot more details and we’d probably be hearing from the family too. My best guess is that some new information got out that got our coaches concerned. Either that or maybe it’s a grade thing. There has been nothing that’s come out that would suggest he wants out of UGA. All we know is that he apologized for something and his LOI likely got put on hold. If it’s a non grade thing, then I’m assuming our coaches are still in contact with him and evaluating the situation to see if he can still be a fit. I’m hoping it works out and Evans is a dawg. Just my 2 cents.

Probably the biggest issue to be considered is not what happens to Evans if he comes in and screws up. We're all fine with the idea that if we take a chance and he gets in trouble, he's gone. The less-discussed aspect is what happens if he engages in some shenanigans and pulls other guys into it with him when he does, effectively losing us not only his playing time, but others as well.

Honestly, this is a kid that I can be totally happy with losing out on. If he comes, great. If not, I'm not sweating it.

I’m no expert on locker room chemistry, but I have to imagine that coaches and players would never let a single player influence or inspire others to act out. That kind of stuff probably doesn’t fly in a football locker room.

Largely don't care, what I have heard seems to be a jackass HS football coach threatening a kid that did not comply with his control freak nature by trying to cost him his a schollie...

Get him signed and let's move on, all those teams trying to make an issue of this, would take him in a split second.

If he signed his LOI, then our coaches are the ONLY ones he can be in contact with.

He can call coaches. No?

I dont think coaches can callback if they miss, though.

I’m almost certain that Crowell had other guys in the slam sedan who got in trouble along with him.

This is a good example of what I was thinking about. One high profile player can have a significant impact on a team.

Story in on cbs sports about Evans. No more info other than it was in fact UGA that he signed with and they will grant an unconditional release so he can go wherever he wants. Story was from 247.

CBs indicate Evans is trending to aTm, but wherever he lands, they'll have to take his word for it, because you can only sign 1 LOI.

According to 247Sports, Evans signed with Georgia in December, but now is not expected to enroll. Assuming Georgia gives him an unconditional release — and the Dawgs are expected to do so — Evans is expected to wind up at LSU or Texas A&M, with the Aggies holding the lead at the moment.

However, since Evans would not sign a National Letter of Intent, he would in theory be free to walk away from Texas A&M or LSU should he so choose as well.

Just inexplicable, have no idea what he did but it must've been enough to spook Kirby
