Exactly. After reading my reply it may seem like I'm agreeing with the OP. Nope. Atlanta has to have the worst drivers by far.

You'd have to look at per capita.

And your number is wrong.

Based on 2016, 4.2 people die on the roads statewide every day.

Also in my opinion, "deadly" doesn't exactly mean "bad". Bad includes many other things that don't necessarily cause death, but great annoyance.

It’s Athens.

The locals are bad enough, but add in the dumbasses from the rural areas that have never seen the weird/active roads, and add the over-confident Atlanta assholes and you have the perfect recipe for headassery.

I gotta cast my vote for Gwinnett county, and it may just be all the assholes cutting through from other places but every morning I hit 85 north and am on edge til I get to 985. Which is not much better. Every night night I wonder if tomorrow is the day I don’t make it home bc of some no drivin a-hole in Gwinnett county.

More proof that atlantans are the worst drivers:

They're the most willing to kill or cripple themselves and a handful of strangers just to try and get home 6 minutes earlier.

You see the same thing on I95 too. With the future heartattack statistics driving one foot off each other's bumper doing 95 and shaking fists at each other...……...when meanwhile you can have the two far right lanes to yourself most of the time and still do 80 while the troopers hunt dipshits in the high blood pressure death lanes over on the left.

The stretch of 285 between SunTrust Park and the I-20 connector. It's basically Atlanta Motor Speedway with 18 wheelers and Escelades.

It has been over a decade since I lived there.

But Gwinnett was awful. Awful on highways. Awful around subdivisions. Awful around grocery stores.

I've lived in SE Gwinnett for a little over a year and in my vicinity, the drivers are quite acceptable, compared to living in Athens for 17 years, which is the grab bag of shite drivers. Spin the wheel, what are we going to get today? Don Pardo says you get a chicken truck that didn't get locked up right. Tomorrow says you get a green Ford Taurus running the redlight at North Ave and MLK. Double Spin Bonus! A bicycle rider pisses off a driver on Athena so he pulls into your oncoming lane without regard to anyone's life, including his own, because he is so blind with rage that the gay bikerider caused him a 41 second delay in getting to his destination that he just said "frick It" and drove into oncoming traffic.

Which drivers frustrate me the most? Athens drivers

Which drivers make me fear for my life? Motherfricking Gwinnett. Only in Gwinnett does it take just as long to drive Pleasant Hill Rd as it does the entirety of 316. I move at 70mph down 316 and go about 45 on Pleasant Hill Rd and the latter easily has come closer to resulting in my death on far more occasions.

Going 85 north from 400 to 285 is a got damn scramble of people in carollas trying to race people in Audi’s, with the occasional Jetta and Tahoe mixed in. They swerve, they pass on your right doing 30 over. They tailgate. And I try to keep it over 70 but below 80mph. Once you pass spaghetti junction.... hang on to your dick.... bc 73-75 is not fast enough for the left lane (big black dude in a suburban tried to run me off the road for that once), move over one to the right and the white knucklers who Would be better off staying over a couple more lanes are doing 65. Wtf... so I cut over and ride the peach pass lane all the way to 316 where the traffic clears a little, but you have to go 85 in there or get run over. Let’s not leave out all the improperly loaded Mexican vans and trailers with all the weight on the tongue you have to watch out for, and the occasional ladder in the road.

We’re reaching a turning point with young drivers too.

When I turned 15 and then 16 I was waiting at the DOT that day to get my permit/license so I could be free. Driving myself was a watershed moment. I had loads of experience both sober and drunk by the time I reached Athens. Zero accidents.

From what I hear, millennials now don’t give a shite and may not even get a license - especially in urban areas. They’re too busy Snapchatting or whatever they do.

Does this mean driving improves because there are fewer kids on the road or does it get worse because eventually mom and dad want to move to the beach so when they get kicked out they’re learning to drive at 29?

The drivers or just the traffic on Jesse jewell? Everybody trying to get over to the right in front of brenau and cvs so they can make the right turn onto John morrow pkwy. Then you have the cops pulling over everyone who gets stuck in the middle of an intersection. I’ve been working in Gainesville for the last 16 months and can not wait to finish these two jobs and get the hell out of little Mexico.

Atlanta Highway in "little Mexico" is a damn death trap. Like flying amongst kamikazies.

That’s where I had my wreck last month and got this wonderful pinched nerve in my neck coming up the back way from oakwood bc traffic was stopped where someone had wrecked again in that very flat very straight part of 985 at exit 17.

Yeah, if something happens to 985 and you have to commute through South Hall up into Gainesville, you're basically fricked.

McEver Road is usually the best option, but then you just end up on Browns Bridge or Dawsonville Highway
