We have 5 games left and are 16-10. The best likely scenario is we probably win 2 of 5. If by some miracle we win all 5 that would put us at 9-9 in the SEC and with an SEC tourney win get us in. Any other scenario we probably have to win the SEC tourney.

19 wins gets them squarely on the bubble and 20 gets them in safely, I think. Anything fewer than 19 wins and it'll be a trip to the NIT.

Unfortunately I think they'll only get 17.

This coming from the guy who thought Big East basketball and MAC football were on the same tier. No one would mistake you for someone who is knowledgeable about college basketball.

We are 4-10 in the SEC. That's downright pathetic.

The question wasn't directed at me but I am definitely not a basketball expert, but I know enough to know that yesterday's game looked like the Harlem Globetrotters playing Harrison High School. Amazingly, UGA stayed within striking distance the whole game. Is that something to be proud of? I don't follow basketball enough to know if that's a legitimate "moral" win.

How many Big East teams are ranked and how many SEC?

This year

In normal years, it would be.

Do you know how many SEC teams are ranked in top 25?

Do you know how many SEC teams are in top 8?

Do you know where the top Big East team is ranked and their record?

Do you know who beat them?

I was 11 when Hugh Durham and the Dawgs of Vern Fleming and James Banks went to the Final 4. Saw Wilkins freak show the year prior (wish he would have stayed 1 more year) and then the belief that Cedric Henderson was going to take us to the promised land. Hell, as an 11-12 year old I thought UGA was a basketball powerhouse. I am 54 now and resigned to the fact that we are and always will be a non factor in basketball.

Last night's win and the 1st Auburn game make it even more perplexing. We obviously have the players to play with and even beat top teams but then shite ourselves against the lesser teams.

Just odd.

3 down votes because I think this team has a chance to make it to the tourney. Y’all are a special breed of negative.

Where do we play when we “play with” top teams? What “lesser teams” are you talking about? We have 1 loss vs a non-ranked team at the time of our game and that is against Arkansas, whose looking like a tourney team…

It’s not odd, at all. We play our best when we are at home, by far. It’s common in basketball. Even South Carolina has some really close games against top teams at home.

Everyone wants to blame CMW all the time, but that fact is, the players shooting drops off a cliff, when we play away from Stegeman. We also tend to start off the 2nd half like shite and increase turnovers.

This team is fairly young too. We don’t average 23.75 years old like Auburn and some others.

It’s not odd at all. That’s basketball. Even the best teams play worse away from home, they just don’t drop off as much as we do.

Been that way not matter the Coach. You are one odd mfer if you can't seem that through our history.

All in one of the wealthiest Athletic Departments in the country in the GMA of likely a top three basketball recruiting area.

You can't undo decades, literal decades, of incompetence in one or two offseasons. Harrick recruited metro ATL decently well, but he was an elite gameday coach so that offset any shortcomings. Felton was a drill seargant that was not really a players coach; with that said he did get a good handful of guys from the area but only a coyuple were actual SEC caliber players. Fox was absolutely 100% staunchly against playing the recruiting game and our relationships with AAUs completely went into the latrine. The amount of SEC level players he got from Atlanta, especially with how long he was here, was shockingly bad. Crean was far more misses than hits too, although he did get Ant which was nice.

All these temas we compete against have been raiding ATL and building relationships for years. We aren't going to undo 20 years of mediocrity in a blink simply because we're the home state. What white is doing, with slow and steady but objectively undeniable progress, is showing these programs and atl kids that UGA just might be good enoguh to stay home for.

Relationships don't matter anymore man. NIL and playing time are the two most important factors.

Kirby had been recruiting Justus Terry since he was in middle school and he went to Texas because they offered more money.

Sure you will have the occasional guy who is more loyal and not a mercenary type but that will be the exception.

Also I thought the AAU circles were off limits to the program after Harrick due to slimy nature of the bagmen AAU coaches

As soon as I wrote us off we won 2 straight SEC games and one of the road. We could sneak in if we win the final 2 games which are very winnable - @SC and Vandy at home.

"sneak in" We would be a 9/10 seed if we win our last 2 games. Love all the people coming back out of the woodwork acting like they know anything about basketball or this team
