23 years since we won an NCAA tournament game. The only current UGA undergrads who were alive then are either a frick-up or a Mormon.

What if we all die before the basketball team ever makes any noise in the NCAA tournament. The death rate is still holding steady at 100 percent. We are all going to die!

Likely, part of problem is the SEC has improved greatly as a ball conference.

We suck at basketball

I was more worried about this scenario with the football team winning another natty. Glad that’s over now.

Exactly, UGA doesn't have a winning basketball tradition in basketball and it will take hiring a great coach who can reel in top 10 recruits for that to change.
This is on the AD. Tennessee is competitive in all 3 major sports because they have made good hires in football, baseball and basketball.
Alabama and Auburn didn't have basketball traditions but now they are top 5 in basketball.

AL was historically the 3rd best team in the league, they have far more of a basketball tradition than the casual obvserver might think.
AU has historically been in teh cellar and had a much worse history than even us.

In both cases though they went out and made grand slam hires. And even Pearl at AU took 4 years before he even made the postseason.

I will say we've at least been TRYING lately. Hiring Felton after harrick was 100% kneejerk and was always destined for failure. Replacing him with Fox was not a great hire and was made exponentiallly worse by us hanging on to him for like 5 years longer than we should have. After that we made an attempt at a great hire with Crean, and on paper taht was a great hire for us. Just didn't work out. After him we got White whihc was also a home run hire on paper, and has worked out quite well IMO.

Fact is there are only so many Bruce Pearls out there each hiring cycle. At least it looks like we're not content to just sit on the sideline anymore. our next hire, whenever that may be, I'm sure we'll pony up again.

???

Kentucky
Florida
Arkansas
LSU
Tennessee

All better and more successful programs than Alabama.

Kentucky and Arkansas are definites.
I was going from memory and didn't look at numbers before posting but i see they are top 3 in both regular season and tournament titles. I believe they're top 3-4 in NCAA appearances too.

I mean Florida is a definite too. Bama didn't even make it to a final four until last year. So describing them as a historically the third best program is just way off.

Tennessee and Bama are pretty similar, with Bama now having the edge with a final 4.

But LSU, Florida, Arky, and UK a tier above the rest.

I told the titty babies in our fanbase that Petino was the only answer, but all the woke morons crapped on that idea.

That guy wins everywhere he goes, basketball has always been super dirty, but now buying players is legal. Petino would get it done.

But after our dipshitte leaders fired Harrick, they cursed us.

He won when he could buy players and is 72. It’s not woke. We already tried an old dude with stink on him with Crean and well.

Hell, he is winning at a mid major right now. 72 is no big deal and he would already have us winning. We don't get to be picky, we are systemically incompetent at basketball.

I can't believe how stupid some of you are about basketball.

Crean is like 50 for one and was a stupid hire. To compare him to Petino is wild.

Crean has rode Wade and Oladipo into generational wealth. Other than that he is an awful coach.

Petino is about to take St. Johns to the tourney for the first time in years.

They both were old and had stink on them. You are correct that Petino is a lot older. Like a lot older.
…. We literally beat him this year and they have 1 win against a ranked team. Most of our SEC schedule was against ranked teams. Give me a fricking break.

What stink did Crean have? He was fired by Indiana for sucking. I don't remember any NCAA stuff going on there.

Would you rather have White or Petino at UGA? (This is a CTE test question, be careful how you answer, think hard)

Crean’s stink? Recruiting ethics and losing players while in program. It was kinda a big deal.

Did White’s UGA team beat Petino’s awesome and cuck coveted team who beat one ranked team all season? This is a CTE thinker.
