Georgia's missing the ability to develop offensive players. We have recruited some of the best classes in the last 5 years including excellent QBs.

Here's a question for you, Jake Fromm started off being great, and then became...better than average. How does a player like Fromm degrade over time? He had no marked improvement from the time he started to the time he was drafted. We're basically playing talented HS athletes on offense and not improving them while they're here. Plain and simple.

Sure we had some bad luck with injuries, but the buck stops with CKS. You HAVE to develop the talent you have, and have a decent backup in the pipeline.

Fromm was clearly improved in 2018 over 2017.

11.2 QBR increase from 2017-2018

And then fell off a cliff from 2018 to 2019. 30.1 QBR drop, and you and I both know how many receivers he missed in 2019

If we had an NFL draftable QB right now we wouldn’t be having this discussion. A Fromm at the helms this year, and we’re cooking in hot grease. The issue is 95% a QB issue

Good point.

If I were to tell you in January when we had Monken and Newman announce they were coming that we would lose Spring practice to install the offense due to a worldwide pandemic, lose Newman to opt-out, hobbled JT Daniels, lose Blaylock for the season, and start Stetson Bennett, how surprised would you be we would lose to UF and Bama?

Keep perspective guys.

87% QB
12% injury problems
1% hot gas

Coley. Fromm actually had his best statistical year in 2018 and then came Coley, a piss poor excuse for an offensive coordinator.

Agree (I truly meant to say “injury issues aside” before I said QB was virtually the entire problem)

What Georgia's Missing

Execution. We missed a couple open receivers downfield that would have made it a 6 point game in the second half. The defense adjusted in the second half giving up only 2 FGs and we were still in the game.

**EDIT**
At the 8:10 mark in the 4th quarter, Mathis missed back to back opportunities for a long TD pass. The first miss was to Robertson on 2nd down. Then on 3rd down Kearis Jackson was wide open and Mathis didn't see him. That would have pulled us within 6 points with 8 minutes to play. Then Webb dropped a Pick 6

Georgia needs an entire offensive overhaul this spring, assuming there is a spring practice. If Monken is THE GUY then turn the offense over to him and get it coached-up. Change whatever needs to be changed. It is not just QB. I personally think the receiving corps is just average, when they have a good day.

Some serious coaching needs to be done between now and next Sept, again assuming we have a regular season next year.

This offense is just embarrassingly bad at the present time.

For what it is worth, the brooks Austin offense breakdown is pretty good.

The cliffs are: it isnt as cut and dry as everyone generalizes. We have personnel weaknesses. We have playcalling weaknesses. We have execution weaknesses. But we have things to work with as well

As bad as that game was for us, this was what was so damn irritating. There was a not even all that unlikely series of events that could have put us back in the lead... I have a feeling that if it came down to it, UF could have scored again and it still would have been an L, but at least it would have been a little more respectable and given the defense a chance to see what they could do with it all on the line.

I don't think Florida took their foot off the gas. They knew at any point if we scored it would have a one possession game game. They missed Pitts but our defense played good in the second half. One of Florida's 2 FGs in the second half was on Mathis.

It really is insane to think that as poorly as we played, with a ragtag group of backups, it was still just 13 points midway through the 4th. The scoreboard won't really reflect it but it wasn't the blowout that it definitely FELT like.

Probably for the best though, had we won we'd be utterly embarrassed playing bama again. Let florida be on the receiving end of it instead

I agree that Bama is probably the better team but Florida has a good enough offense to make it a game whereas I would expect an even worse showing by our team considering the current state of affairs.

We dropped a easy pick 6 that would cut the lead to 7 with half of the 4th qtr to play and I believe we stopped em in 2 drives and they didn't take their foot off the gas.Trask was still passing on 1st down and they went for it on 4th down inside our territory.

Mullen wasn't playing it safe

I'm starting to wonder if the tv show "A Series of Unfortunate Events " was written by a ga fan.

Kirby has fricked up the qb position
People keep saying this. These same people wanted Kirby to throw away a great 2018 team to let Fields frick around and figure shite out instead of playing the guy that was very clearly better that year. It's not Kirby's fault Fields is a baby back bitch that was scared to compete and wait for a year. Fields could've had a national championship this year at Georgia. He still may at tOSU. Either way, Fields left because he's an entitled little bitch. Not because Kirby mishandled the qb situation.
