It cost us the 2018 national championship

I just shook my head when he threw that pick. That was the same exact pick he threw last year in the Alabama game to Colby Young lol.

Per Pete Carson never makes bad throws, it’s always the defenders making spectacular plays

As grown men, let's not take joy in his pain. It's unbecoming. It's ok for him not to be your favorite player. He had poor body language for both teams did occasionally not take responsibility for losses, but he did take the blame last night. Most of us were happier with a good ole boy like Gunner leading the team, but the people who get on here and bash him are childish.

This is no longer the day of the student-athlete, if ever there was such a thing. He is a very highly paid professional; mockery comes with the territory. Join in if you choose, decline if you choose. It makes no difference to anyone, including Beck.

Would have agreed with you a few years back, but that crap went out the window when they became millionaires playing college ball.

Where does the CB play on base cover 2? What does he do and where does he end up? I know you’ll need to Google it and that’s fine. I want you to learn basic football.

I didn’t watch the end after Beck threw the interception. But this morning I read that Beck walked off the field without congratulating Mendoza and Indiana players. That sums up my feelings about Beck…he rides high when it’s good but sulks and pouts when it’s not.

Pete it was cover 2 whether you like it or not, there was no one to cover in the flat that’s why the cb made an adjustment to the play. It’s called being well coached, Sad thing is Beck knew the play that called and pre determined where that ball was going. Even the receiver said he had no idea that ball was being thrown to him. It’s clear to everyone on this board you don’t know near as much as you like to lead people on.

Ok so I’m supposed to believe Pete the arm chair qb instead of Beck and every other analyst I’ve heard talk about that play? Lol get a life dude
Doesn't matter what the coverage was. Beck threw the ball too short (as he did repeatedly when he was a Dawg) and the CB was where the ball went, not the WR. He threw several behind his targets and a few that hit the ground in front of his targets. Reminded me of his time with Georgia.

We knew he was going to revert to form, but Hurricane fans refused to believe us.

Lets not forget the reality that Beck was headed to the NFL draft before the injury.
He already earned his degree from Georgia.
He was instrumental in winning the SEC Championship in 2024.
He simply chose the best option available for this season.
If he shows up on campus for an eventual reunion, I will gladly clap for him and his teammates,

Again, base cover 2 means the CB stays in the flat. Beck threw the ball assuming the CB would stay in the flat. The placement of the ball was not bad if the receiver was looking and the CB played base 2, like he showed off the line. What you can see from the play is Indiana allowed the CB to give up his flat responsibilities and trail the play. Beck did not see it, so that part is on him. That is a risky move as if a back gets into the flat he runs for 40 yards as no one is there. I think it was a scouting thing and they baited the throw. W for the Indiana defense and staff on that play.

Back has always been inconsistent with his spacial awareness when it comes to hitting receivers where they’re going to be at the point if catch. It’s obviously not easy but a trait we’ve all seen in elite QBs. He throws behind receivers crossing, over their heads and in this case short of what would’ve been a game winning TD. If he puts that ball on the pylon it’s at worst incomplete and at best a TD. If the receiver didn’t turn and locate the ball that’s on him….but it was still short.
I doubt you’ll find a QB with more practice reps that Beck has had so he may never get to that level. Who knows.
Time to move on. I suspect he’ll end up in a roster so we’ll see what happens. It’ll be a crime though if he gets a shot before Stet.

What I really kept thinking was that Miami, for all $6M they paid Beck, ended up being a significantly inferior version of our 2021 team
FIFY. Their defense doesn't hold a candle to what we had. Their offense doesn't have multiple future very good NFL WRs (even if we only got Pickens for a brief glimpse that year) or the best tight end in all of football.

I don't care what the coverage was. The ball was so far underthrown the reciever didn't even make a play in the ball.

Receiver never looked back.

If the CB isn’t poaching, the ball hits the receiver out of reach of the safety. If he leads the receiver to the inside, the safety makes the play. He didn’t expect the CB to be there. Good scheme by Indy. Start around 28 mins.
