Why can't uga and uf agree to host recruits in jax?

I think Texas and OU coming in could help get this done, because from my understanding it’s an SEC policy

Now you’ve got the WLOCP, the Red River Shootout and Arkansas-A&M all as neutral site rivalries in the conference. Between that and NIL, it’s time to just let recruits in these games.

Bama v Auburn is a huge game still and there are a lot more people in the stands now than when it was in that shite stadium in BHM

So what. The stadiums are bigger. Birmingham used to be a week long vacation destination for fans of both teams. Hotels and motels were full and restaurants as well. Many hotels were reserved for the same people every year and passed down to sons and daughters in wills.
Visiting fans now show up on Friday or Saturday morning.

somehow I doubt that people were taking the week off work starting on Tuesday to drive their RVs 2 hours to birmingham to park it near legion field to spend the week.

Probably not driving RVs. But you should talk to some people that lived in Alabama during the Legion Field era and ask them. I'm from Alabama and grew up with Alabama/Auburn football. I know what I'm talking about.

The same group of freaks who are still alive are in Tuscaloosa by Tuesday or Wednesday for every home game, just like BHM. Only difference is they have less chances of getting murdered now.

Yea. It very much appears the tradition in Jacksonville has hurt our recruiting. Lol

The big recruits are now all about money in addition to the traditional factors (coaches, air time, girls, education).

When the people giving that money want the game back in Athens, it will be back in Athens.

Meanwhile, a guaranteed prime time game (even when one team sucks) has great national value too.

The answer will be solved when all the teams drop a cupcake and have a better game to use.

I get why Kirby wants it to leave. Maybe he has some PSD from his playing days in Jax.

I'm sure it was big and it's obviously important, and I'm quite sure it "meant more" considering how the state of AL was during that time and how both schools were not more than 2 hours from where the game was played. I was more so commenting that it wasn't "bigger" or more of a party/event/scene to behold than UGA/UF is.

Legion Field was an entirely different issue with Bama saying Auburn didnt have the facilities for the game and Denny Stadium in Tuscaloosa was a vandy like back then.

Plus it was more than Bama alums ran the state and forced AU to play there. Heck they forced Bama to play there until PBBjr had it condemned.

They also have motorized wheelchair racks on the back of their RVs now,

Don't think it is and I believe Arky and A&M host recruits at Jerry World.I think UGA and UF have some type of gentlemens agreement not to host.

That’s my understanding. UGA and UF have an agreement. Most likely due to the proximity advantage UF has.

Like every other UGA fan on the planet, I love Kirby. How could we not? But UGA football is bigger than kirby, or any individual man.

True, but Smart is the best head coach we have had in the history of the program. And he's having to deal with issues college football and the SEC have never seen before - NIL, major conference realignment (which appears to be just getting started), etc.

The times are changing. I don't like it, but I don't want us to lose any advantage - especially now. I'm certainly fine with keeping TWLOCP the way it is, but if it goes the way of the Dodo, I'll understand and support it.

That’s because it’s on fox.. and that’s their big game, because they can’t compete in any other time slot.

That is where the argument really comes from.. those who either don’t get Jax tux or don’t want yo make the trip., it’s about their selfishness and gas nothing to do with any of the the other arguments that mean nothing

Then, don’t play a neutral site game the year we should have UF at home.. it’s either important or not.. you can’t say we are missing out on a home game but book a neutral site game.. Oregon at home this year would be much bigger than UF at home
