1999 against Auburn.

Auburn was coming off a 3-8 season and had a losing record heading into the game. We were down 31-0 at halftime and 38-0 early in 3rd quarter. Ben Leard, who was at best mediocre, had around 400 yards passing.

That game sucked but at the time, no one knew how good the RichRod/Pat White WVU teams were going to become.

2014 UF is as high up there as any for me. Georgia came into the game rolling and got trucked by a godawful Florida team. That may have been Richt's most embarrassing loss.

We lost to LSU sometime in the mid or late 80’s.......I was physically ill for 3 days. I was only about 20or so and up to that point I thought UGA was an elite program......

The Penn State Sugar Bowl was also prett bad

The last 2 losses to Alabama though are by far the worst.......2 national riles in 5 years is program changing.

I was at the WVU game...sitting in the WVU section...as you can imagine, the was a special sort of hell. They were all trash talk for 2.5 quarters...they puckered up a bit for awhile until the fake punt sealed the game...then it was back to the trash talk.

That was the first game I ever went to and I couldn't believe how many WVU fans drove their houses down to the game

Still the 2012 SECCG for me. There were some other painful ones but the stakes were much lower.

Hmmm....I've been a fan for 40-plus years, so in no particular order...

1. 1994 Homecoming loss to Vandy, 43-30...We were mailing in with Goff by this time.

2. 1995 loss to UF, 52-17..final nail in Goff's coffin...

3. 2010 bowl loss to UCF, 10-6...Rotten game; you could tell that we didn't want to be there.

4. 2008 Alabama loss, 41-30....Exposed on national TV by a hungry Bama team.

5. 2012 SEC Championship loss....No words needed..

6. 2009 Tennessee loss, 45-19....I watched UT throw a roll-out pass to the TE at least 100 times, it seemed like, and Martinez NEVER adjusted.

Maybe this is cathartic? In no particular order:

Alabama 2008, 2012, and January 2018. I guess 2012 is the worst because it meant Richt never won a championship here and it would’ve been a cleansing of the demons from ‘08. I guess. The loss in January meant a great group of players and a magical season got poo poo’ed. ‘08 killed Richt’s career at UGA. Georgia needs to beat Alabama soon and wash out the taste of their arse.

Florida and South Carolina - 2014. Georgia was good enough to win the SEC that year. Tech was just the exclamation point on an underachieving season. Richt was dead walking at that point.

Tech in 2000. Worst atmosphere ever. Non-competitive, at home, in the rain. Godsey’s run through an NFL caliber defense might be the low point of UGA football in my life.

Tennessee 1995 and 2004. 1995 - lost Robert Edwards, the game, the season, and a coaching career. 2004 - coming off a revenge beat down of LSU and laid down completely on offense.

Florida 2002 - missed opportunity after opportunity to change the direction of the series.

This was not cathartic.

2008 Alabama was the turning point in the Richt era at Georgia. Nothing felt the same after that game until we changed coaches.

The fact that some people were still afraid to bring back the black jerseys 8 years later tells you how bad that loss stuck in people's heads.

there's too many to list really but count me as the oddball that doesn't really count 08 bama as as bad as everyone else does.

-The ONE truly bad thing about it IMO was the halftime score which is utterly embarrassing.
-It wasn't nearly the blowout that people make it out to be. Prince millers TD return was the first play of the 4th quarter IIRC which made it a 14 point game. If you've got a 2 TD game with a full quarter to play, that's a game. We ended up losing by 11.
-They were simply a much, MUCH better team than us. Granted we didn't know that at the time, but them starting 12-0 and us getting shallacked by UF and losing to tech obviously cemented that. I'd liken the situation to MSU last year. They were ranked 17th riding high after a whooping of LSU and had everythign thinking they were special. They came to athens and faced a much better, more talented, more physical, and better coached team and got killed. I'm sure it sucked for htem but after season the entirety of the full season I'm sure they don't hate it as much knowing they lost to a team that was simply better in all aspects. Granted we were better in 08 than MSU was last year but the overall point is similar.

It was for me, because I realized all that alcohol consumption during the bad games left me with less bad memories than you.

In hindsight it ended up not mattering in the grand scheme of things, but that 2012 shellacking we took from South Carolina was a fricking atrocious game.

This. From 2008 until 2015, with the exception of the 2012 season, it seemed like nothing good went our way. That time period became the era where Richt couldn't beat a ranked team to save his arse...Literally.

Imagine what would have happened had we won the 2012 SECCG and beat Notre Dame for the title?

1. Richt is probably still here.

2. Kirby is probably at SCAR...

4. Muschamp is probably still a DC at AU.

That loss impacted the future of 3 teams and 3 coaches over the 3 years following that game.

IIRC jason campbell was on a recruiting visit to us that game and heard some people in the crowd calling Quincy the n-word and he dropped us.

Not that it was a huge loss but I think I remember that.

2015 Alabama 38-10 in the rain and we got our butts whooped. Bad enough we lost Nick Chubb the next week at Tenn.

Didn't hear that but they certainly wanted DC Kevin Ramsey's head on a pike.

When UGA lost for the 3rd year in a row to GT, Donnan was on the call-in show fielding calls from angry Dawgs. Finally, he told Loren...'I don't know why these folks are so upset...it's not like the GT game means anything in terms of the SEC standings.'

As soon as he said it, I told my wife he would be fired by Christmas.

I was wrong about that, though....he got fired the next day.
