Go back and re-watch Alabama and Florida from last year. If the only prep your d-line needs is to put their hands up, then we're going to have a problem. Glad he got a scholly, still doesnt need to play meaningful minutes in SEC games.

No idea why folks have their panties in a wad over his performance on Saturday and who on here is saying he should get PT over JT?
He was obviously the correct choice over Beck and earned the start vs UAB.

This is where you and I disagree. If it was to simply get a W over UAB, then probably was the right choice. But IMO (and I am no Kirby Smart *see other thread), we should have let Beck start the game and get comfortable playing. Stetson has that experience coming in and starting against cupcakes and getting the W. But I think if Beck was prepped to start and started the game, he would have found his rhythm and been great too. Instead, you start Stetson, bring in Beck randomly and then fans compare the stats.
Is there seriously a doubt in anyones mind about the physical attributes of Beck or BVG over Stetson?
PS - for the 100th time, everyone agrees Stetson played well and is a DGD...but that doesnt beat Florida and Bama down the road, just saying

I agree, booing was not the right thing to do and does not represent the Bulldawg nation. However, I think Fields in fresh in the minds of people. And despite what people think, worrying about transfers IS a big deal right now...since they have a free transfer and can play immediately.
Comparing what Stetson did as a starter vs Beck did coming in during situations is not fair either.

1) Carson got 22 snaps. Maybe you can explain to me why getting snaps to start the game versus getting a good number of snaps matters.
Secondly, defenses dont want QBs comfortable. Bennett takes snaps in games without the practice reps that JT or Beck are getting. It doesnt seem like the coaching staff is too worried if he is comfortable with that or not.

Kirby told them Thursday morning that Stet would get 2 series and then Beck would come in for 1. On Thursday. How much prepared could Beck be for this scenario?

A healthy Bennett wins. But i have doubts that his frame can take hits from those big bodies and hold up without damage that would effect his performance. But you know what? Daniels is the starter. Not Bennett. If Daniels goes down, then Bennett is the guy. And he is obviously a lot further along than Beck. If you think Beck is better than Stetson...?

It's pretty much Kirby's philosophy about earning PT during practice week and it doesn't matter if you're a projected starter,5 star or someone who "needs the reps"

It comes down to who's the better QB and who gives us the best chance of winning.Not who looks the best in underwear and puts up the best combine numbers.
BTW,who the hell is saying Stetson is a better QB or a better option than JTD?

Hopefully, we'll never see a Bennett situation once this guy finally goes on and becomes a high school football coach because HOPEFULLY, a top three program like UGA will from this point forward be signing one 5 star QB recruit per year...or perhaps a high 4 star in an off cycle.
A 5-10, low ceiling QB shouldn't even be allowed to sniff the practice fields at our facilities.

A back up QB who jumped in and went 5-2 in SEC play including wins against 2 ranked teams? Didn’t even have the chance to warm up against lower tier teams? Kept us in the game against one of the best Alabama teams ever and got broken in the UF game and still went out and tried to help his team? And you want to somehow diminish what he has done for our team. frick you man. You are better than this.

Some of these people are just dumb as frick. Stetson ties UGAs TD id a game record with half a games work.
We have been playing filler games for 100 years... Stet only needed a handfull of snaps and basically no practice reps. Not to mention very few attempts to do it.
