We looked better Saturday then we looked against Auburn in 17

Most units performed better than v Auburn, but there's a fraction of the room for error.
Bama can be beat, but not with the turnovers and missed opportunities.

My advice to Georgia? Prioritize building a relationship with this guy as much as we do with any HS coaches. I bet Dabo, to whom Avery sent a couple of Metro Atlanta All Americans, absolutely loves the guy.
Seems like he might be steering guys away from us, but maybe I’m misunderstanding. Not the kinda person you want telling kids to go elsewhere.

A year from now he will have had more 1st round QBs in a 6 year stretch than Georgia has hand had in the last half century. From the kid's and their parents perspective he's more reliable than any coach on our staff, and I'd bet he's working right now with a future star QB in Atlanta.
If someone like that thinks Georgia is a bad place for elite guys (and I've not seen proof of that anywhere) I think the better approach is to find why and figure how to change that opinion.

The absolute worst aspect of all of this is the fact we had Justin Fields and Kirby fricked it up.
I am not one to sit back on "what if." But for a program like ours who is constantly one or two pieces from a championship - it is very disheartening knowing we had that guy on our roster and let him walk bc Fromm was playing good game manager ball but not great game-changing level ball.
For everyone who says, "he got beat in practice" well apparently Bennett did against D'wan Mathis too so excuse me if I am not sold on Kirby's practice evaluations. It's hard to support Kirby on what happened, we went with Fromm and we ended up 11-3 in 2018 - does anyone really think we would've had a worst season with Fields if we gave him the reins? Its a tough pill to swallow that we are blowing out 9/10 of our conference with a walk on at QB but still can't get over the top 1% bc of our limitations at QB.

I think Kirby knows he massively fricked up on the Fields situation, which is why he found not one but two transfers in the off season on top of having Mathis and Bennett. Mathis didn't pan out, Bennett was never meant to play, Newman quit in the ninth hour, and Daniels is injured. Thats a lot of freakish shite to go down. Let's see if he can redeem himself in the next few seasons before we cast him out.

Honestly I feel like Fields would've transferred this year even if he did beat out Fromm. He would have 3 OCs in 3 years with 2 of those being under Chaney and Coley.

Very hypothetical and very doubtful he transfers off a team with NFL talent at almost every position to go elsewhere. Even with our fault's we have more talent than every school other than possibly 3 or 4 in the entire country.

If a highly touted 5 star QB was going into his 3rd year with his 3rd new OC and the NCAA just granted you a free year, then I don't think it's doubtful to consider transferring to a school that you know you'll excel in instead of risking being in another system that could not maximize your talents. Is it hypothetical? Yes, but it's not at all doubtful.

None of that should have been the case. Mismanagement of the offense includes hiring a buddy (Coley) to "run" the offense. That's part of this control thing we've seen with Kirby. That's not something that goes away in one season. It will take time.
We have a solid OC right now, with a modern and advanced offense. I think Mathis could end up very good. We have Daniels on roster and a 5* kid coming in next year.
All isn't lost by any stretch. I just would like to see some of these changes ccome to fruition right now.

I agree. Sometimes I think we forget how young Kirby's HC career is. Hell, it took Dabo 8 years to win his first natty and he had his fair share of head scratching moments along the way.

Maybe, but Avery worked with Watson - no issues, Trevor Lawrence - no issues, Jalen Hurts - no issue, and at least one other NFL guy. That's not including Fields who's now flourishing and perfectly happy somewhere else.
So you skip the whole “times have changed” point and then the avery one goes over your head. The seeds of discontent don’t grow everywhere they are planted. One can be a great coach and a problem is this era at the same time. This dude would have advised Kyle Pitts to QUIT after game 1 this year. What a POS.

Lol. Dude, you gotta think for a second before you respond. How does times having changed make Lawrence and Hurts irrelevant?

How is this guy sewing seeds of discontent when every high profile guy he's worked with is nothing short of revered everywhere else?
He's in Atlanta. He helps produce as many star quarterbacks as anyone in the country. He should be on the Christmas card list for every UGA recruiter.

Each Qb's situation is unique and stands on its own. Times having changed is relevant to Fields and Newman. What applies to one may not apply to another.

Thats the kind of trash he likely spews behind the scenes. Maybe he has a problem with Kirby starting Fromm over Fields. Maybe he is a bit too far down the BLM rabbit hole.

Jesus fricking Christ.
They're in school at same time as the others, Marty! The times couldn't be more alike if they were synchronized. In fact they are synchronized because they're in the same fricking time zone at the same time!
Unless you gave one of those kids your DeLorean the times most certainly have not changed.

Two of these is too many. Pick one dumb thing to gripe about here. Either make this molehill of a joke tweet into a mountain or assume his politics for some reason makes Dabo and Clemson more appealing than Kirby and Athens. If you really think that's the case I retract my earlier comment because you must really be living in 1984.

Different schools
Different times
Different situations
Its not apples to apples. You are wrong to assert they are apples to apples.

Newman would have quit Clemson too. He took terrible advice from someone. Who do you think that was? Damn good chance that is Avery, the guy with the awful tweet about PITTS that you are ignoring.

Lawrence and Watson are both Avery kids.
So is Hurts.
Point is his kids do very well - as teammates, as student athletes, and as pros. His track record is excellent.
I see no reason to call the guy a cancer because you don't like one of his joke tweets. If it's his politics you're eliminating 3/4 of players and almost every kid with a black coach.

I think I may have mixed Veal and Avery. I thought both worked with Lawrence and Fields. Not sure that was only Veal, but the point is the same.
