Now that everyone had time to sleep on it? We are still the 3rd best team in the Country, we will still have the #1 defense at the end of the season. Bama has studs at WR, RB, QB and put 7-8 people blocking for Mac Jones so those WRs had time to get open. Our 5'10 former walk on QB struggled but he showed some upside yesterday. Calm down, we are gong to be okay

Unless that means he got 6” taller, we didn’t watch the same game

Sorry breezy, this isn't 2010 where you can win championships with game managers at qb . Bennet is a DGD but when you face the likes of Clemson, Ohio state , Bama who match you talent wise, you need very good qb play. Those guys have elite qb play

Your QB has to elevate the team in today's game. Everyone knows this.
On Stetson's very best day he can't be elite. Not his fault, and I don't blame him for it. Still, that's not good enough.

I tend to agree.
It is clear to me that having a mobile QB is a huge advantage. The last 4 national championships were won with freak athletic QBs.
Bennett is not the answer but apparently he's the best we have in terms of athletic QBs.
Regardless, we could have won that game last night if Stetson had made better decisions.
On each of those interceptions, if Bennett had either run the ball or elected to throw a shorter pass to an open receiver, we win the game.
If we could have stayed ahead in the 3rd quarter, we would have been able to pound them with our running game in the 4th quarter and won the game by 2 TD's.
We had 145 yards rushing to Bama's 147.
Their big advantage was in passing yardage: 269 to 417. They would have had a lot less big passing plays if our offense had been able to sustain drives.
We had the lead in the 1st half; we just needed to drive the length of the field on every possession in the 2nd half and at least get a FG each time. Instead, we turned the ball over giving Bama opportunities to score and they did.
I was disappointed in our pass coverage but the refs sure didn't help with their one sided interference penalties against us. But yea, they have elite receivers so I expected 3 TD passes from Mac to whoever but you can't win against a talented like Bama throwing 3 INT's.

In a weird way I’m actually sort of encouraged. The fact is if we had a quality scholarship QB then we stand a great chance at winning that game. The defense wasn’t super but SB’s picks put Bama at the 50 a few times. The run was working, so I wish we had tried to run it more, but in Monken’s defense it seemed like every play we had receivers running free and SB just didn’t consistently hit them. Honestly, based on how they played most of their careers, Murray or Fromm would have done really well.

Not the #3 team. Bama, Clemson, and OSU are all significantly better than us.

No, Stetson doesn't throw those pics and Bama might beat us by 7. OSU doesn't have the WRs Bama has, but Clemson is better than us.

I was too, and I expect Stetson and this offense to improve a lot by the SECCG

What sucks is we just let OSU in the top 3 and they haven’t even taken a snap and will likely play 7-8 games and qualify for the playoffs.

I’m not gonna read too much into the defense. In this day of offenses ...when you get some stops against a team with as many weapons as bama has, you got to score to help the defense. When they give you a first play INT...you can’t give it right back.

How far will we drop? 7? 8?

UNC losing certainly helps. Probably 7. If there was any integrity, ND would drop out if the top 10. Years past we would drop with poor showings even though we won the game.

It's kirby's achilles heal imo. Qb at uga has been unstable at best sense fromm s freshman year and I can assure you we have chubb and Michele to thank for most of that offensive success.

Where did you see fields play this fall?
Who is to say how he plays this year. Maybe great, may get injured, may not look great.

Not overreacting, it’s just apparent we have a ceiling with 13 at QB and if he’s the best option we have we win the East at best.

Naw we showed in the first half we can play with anyone, just cant make the mistakes Stetson made in the 2nd half

That's the whole point. Good qbs don't throw 3 picks in big games like that.
