Yeah, it would have been us, Michigan, Washington, and FSU. We beat FSU even at full strength. They didn't have any depth beyond their starters. Michigan-Washington would have been a good game.

Will be either off season motivation or just spilled milk.

Just don't know with such a huge portion of our team gone.

Who is left to be a leader?

We have to get an Alpha on defense.

Or to have lost to an undefeated Bama by 3 in the SECCG.

It was possible but Georgia and Alabama had the same problem: neither team had a championship level defense. Our last 2 offenses were good but we won the last 2 national championships due to excellent defense.

This year was just rotten luck. I cannot think of another time that an SEC team that went undefeated in the regular season got left out. But this was also the first year of 3 P5 undefeated teams along with two 1-loss conference champs.

Would it have been better to lose to mizzou and let them go to Atlanta against bama?
Then we hop scotch in to the playoff like bama did in 2017 ?

Reminder we made it last year on a couple missed field goals we had no control over.

It takes luck.

Bama losing to Texas almost made them a package deal. Bama played some bad games this year, including Auburn at the end of the season. Bama gave us a good game and we didn’t play our best and they needed some ref help, which is normal, but worse when we can’t overcome it on the field. Not sure what is worse, Michigan fans cock walking or FSU fans thinking they could have beat us if they had 7 starters after watching our scout team beat them in the second half.

maybe if we had pressured Milroe like Michigan did we would still be playing.

Michigan definitely learned from our game.

I posted this in another thread but drop it here also. Who and when a team loses is a stupid metric if your judging for the 4 best.

UGA lost to Bama, who lost to Texas, who lost to Oklahoma, who lost to Kansas (Ok st and Arizona), who lost to Texas Tech, who lost to Wyoming, who lost to Air Force, who lost to Hawaii, etc, etc.

Who a team lost to should never come into the equation unless they chase it all the way down the rabbit hole.

Ideally, you are correct.

But we only get 12 games.
Is that the shortest league of any major sport?
Either the games matter or they dont.
If they don't, why play anyone good?

It's amazing what they can do when they watch someone else's game film...

What is irritating is Texas, FSU, and Michigan had cake walks in their championship games and we dropped from #1 to #6 for losing by 3 to a top 10 team because Texas had a much worse loss, but beat Bama early in the season. They left FSU out, because they weren’t best 4, but let Bama and Texas in because they were both deserving.

The committee needs to make up their mind. Do the best teams go or do the most deserving teams go.

They didn't wanna see a 3peat unless it was Bama or one of the other media darlings

there is undoubtedly a ton of luck involved in our b2b. we were on the wrong side of it this year.

it does sting a little more knowing that a 4th and 31 hail mary is what kept us out, as that seems a little more unlucky than missing a field goal, but hey i guess it all comes around.

my problem is that when it comes to bama, it really never does come around.

tyler simmons was onside, they convert 2nd and 26 (probably not luck and we just suck), that 4th down catch before half wasn't reviewed, we drop the ball for no reason on the 10 yard line, i dont know man. when does the luck go against them?

outside of 2nd and 26, none of that had anything to do with them creating luck, it was all bullshite.
