Nothing needs to happen.
Make em run till they puke.
That is all.
If they speed, they puke.
If they speed again, they puke.
If they speed again, they puke.
Let the department of driver services manage who keeps their drivers license and who loses it.
Let the insurance companies determine who is and isn't insurable risks.
The world is a much worse place when everyone's knee-jerk reaction is to "fix everything".

I don't click DawgNation/AJC links. What happened, a guy got a speeding ticket and it's a headline?

88 in a 55 man it’s hard not to see a pattern here you can say college kids etc but there is a pattern none the less

Check out this from the bleacher report-
Talk about flat out wrong "journalism".
quote:
Carter, who lost control of his vehicle, crashing it into power poles and trees at more than 100 mph, pleaded no contest to misdemeanor charges of reckless driving and racing. He was sentenced to one year of probation, 80 hours of public service and a $1,000 fine.

If it was in a 55 in Oconee county then he was either on 316 or 10 Loop which are both 4 lane divided highways, and I can attest that people drive 88 or faster all the time. They shouldn't but they do. Rednecks in big ol trucks with somewhere to be, or college kids, doesn't matter. But the football player, when he gets his speeding ticket on 316, it's a national headline. Redneck Billy doesn't count. He was just listening to 97.1 the River and the Eagles came on and he turned it up and forgot to set his cruise control; pay the fine, no harm no foul.
The way the media is going after these players is horrendous.

I am wondering, at what point, people will realize the content they consume from these "journalists" is 50% pure bullshite. In the sports context, there's a lot more and better information in this community of people at GSB and even some other boards, than anything you'll ever get out of the so-called "beat writers".
Does Chip Towers have more information than Peter Buck? Nope.
There's an old quote I attribute to Robert Anton Wilson- Those who talk don't know. Those who know don't talk.

There's a name for the phenomenon, but I don't remember what it is. But it goes like this-
A professional brick layer reads the newspaper every day. One day, there's an article involving brick laying. He reads it, and he laughs and thinks "This is 50% bullshite, ha ha." Then he reads the rest of the newspaper astutely on other subjects on which he's not an expert, and thinks he's being informed with good information.
It's some kind of fallacy.

What is the pattern? He is a college aged kid? 30 over on a highway isn’t good but it isn’t anything uncommon. This isn’t comparable to the other speeding incidents. The others were much more reckless.

College aged, male drivers. Even if they don’t play football they speed

I got a 55 in a 35 on Prince Avenue, and I was drunk, thank God I wasn't a football player. I got off with a ticket. And the AJC didn't put my name in the paper.

Exactly. I probably got 5-8 tickets from 18-23. Probably should have gotten more to be honest.

I mean frick, we used to break rules on scooters. Now young men have cars and more money than most have ever had in a new environment.
Everybody looking at the school and Kirby and nobody wants to point to the obvious. We know why.

College boys make bad decisions? College boys like to drive fast?
Are you implying there is some kind of underground racing club on the team? What's this pattern you ate suggesting?

Seth Emerson should research and write an article using the ticket info from Clarke and Oconee counties for the population as a whole. How many speeding, super speeders, etc. I bet the numbers would be eye opening.
