If you think about it, Alabama may be fricked. It’s gonna be tough to follow Saban.

If Georgia goes on a run, neither of us will think of Saban's Era as the golden age.

You are probably the perfect example of the caliber of person this sport is being watered down for and will now cater too. Enjoy your mini-nfl genius.

Meanwhile, for people with a soul who aren’t cringy shallow geeb dweeblers, this is a pretty profound moment. For people that truly love the sport, yesterday was a historic day, love him or hate him. One they’ll talk about forever. For people with half a brain, they’ll realize that Georgia would never be the program it is at this second today if it weren’t for Nick Saban at Alabama.

I despise Alabama but this is undoubtedly true. Competing with Nick Saban required major changes at UGA that would not have happened without him, including hiring KS, but it goes way beyond that.

I think if everyone was being honest they’d admit that Bamas best teams were the result of both Saban and CKS being a part of the same staff and bringing their focus on recruiting, defense and hard nose football to bear on the SEC. Smart learned a lot from Saban and Saban benefitted from Kirby’s hard work and a like minded approach. Those defenses they fielded were some of the best ever.

After Smart left, Bama and Saban were still been able to ride that momentum in recruiting but the revolving door of assistants and NIL/transfers ending a teams ability to stack talent started to take its toll. Also, you could see that he was losing his edge over the last couple of years…which is understandable at his age. It’s a testament to the machine he built that he could still stay at the top despite this and all of the changes.

Bama was the most feared opponent in the SEC and definitely had our number from the damned black out game on. It’s been an interesting dynamic in the SEC here CNS was feared, hated and respected as being the best all at the same time. He will be the GOAT for a long time I believe.

Why would Lanning or any other coach in a good situation at a good program want to go to Alabama. A two loss season and every Bama fan will be screaming for your head.

If I was Lanning I would say thanks, but no thanks, and try to win at Oregon. He ca recruit and Oregon, with the Nike connection, has plenty of dollars.

Lanning will make a play for Schumann if hired. Wonder how that will play out.

This can't be emphasized enough. Have you ever had to follow up someone at work or school or whatever and they did the greatest thing you've ever seen? And you go next and you're thinking to yourself

F U C K

It's like that but times 1000.
