Santa Rosa County especially Milton and Gulf Breeze got hammered by winds. Have a number of friends down there who say it is a war zone.
Yep. We thought we were safe when the storm started drifting to the east. It is always better to be on the west side of a hurricans...or so we though. This one pulled in a rare Jet Sting that made about a 20 mile wide strip from Milton, through Gulf Breeze and onto PCB where Portofino is. The storm was only a Cat 2 Hurricane with about 80 mph winds, but in this Jet Sting area winds were up to around 120 mph, pretty close to a Cat 4. It was absolutely bonkers for about two hours. Cleanup is going to take a while.

How about Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University over in Daytona Beach?

True engineering or Aeronautics as in flying? My son wants to be pilot and is going to Charleston Southern…the only SC college with an accredited aeronautics program. He’s one check ride from his Instrument rating as a sophomore.

ER is a great school to learn to fly, but it's extremely expensive. I took Rules Jr there for a campus vising before he chose GT.
For the engineering part, GT is much better, and a boatload cheaper.

Ya ER is super $$$. Auburn us cheaper for that program

That's my Alma-mater but it's not on his list right now but we've talked to him about it.

Got a tee time at Stonebrook tommorow. The weather might be shite tommorow though - very windy. Be sure to prep your house for any errant golf balls. :)

Just found the first one on my lawn after the storm this morning. Posted a picture of it to my family to let them know the world was healing.
Anyway, the course looks in great shape. Hopefully the weather will hold.

Mine too...sort of. I went to the ERAU remote campus at NAS Pensacola for my Masters when I was stationed there back in the 90s. I imagine the main campus in Daytona is pretty sweet.

I did remote campus at Hurlburt field. I used most of my GI bill there actually. I was never actually at Daytona but my son wherever he chooses will be doing on campus. We already got plans for his room.

The wind was blowing towards my house yesterday. This is what I found on my lawn at the end of the day.
Any of these look familiar?

None of those are mine but I did take a drop on this hole because my drive pushed a little right and I never found it. The leaves were glistening and it made it hard to see. Also, the wind was humming yesterday which made it hard to play good golf. Had a few birdies and a bunch of bogeys.
