Challenging for sure - it's a great school but very hard to get into and they also seem to lean toward taking more out of state kids than in state. Hopefully he gets the school of his choice. Sounds like your kids knew what they wanted to do and stuck with it. My son's advisor is mostly picking his schools and visits based on his scores and what he wants to do so but it's mostly been up to him. Exciting to go thru it all but also - stressful thinking about all the money and swag I'm about to have to buy. Lol

They are putting in the work, and most of the debris seems to be centered around the homes. I've walked the course twice since the storm, and I think it will be open by the weekend.
Good deal- I'll give their office a call this week and hopefully get a tee time then. I'm sure all the golfers are going to be stewing ready to play by the time all these courses re open.

Rules Jr graduated AE in 2014. He seems to like it.

My youngest will probably apply to GT and Kennesaw. 1490 SAT, eagle scout, took AP Calc AB and BC his junior year and got 5s on both. Is currently taking 2 GT dual enrollment courses including a math right now. We want to feel confident about GT but it is that challenging to get in. He wants to do robotics, but he is interning at a civil engineering company last year and this year. He is going to setup a backup with KSU just in case.
What was his eagle scout project?
Does he need another one?
What high school?

He built a climbing wall and outdoor garden for an occupational therapist who works with children and underprivileged.

They typically do 1.
Since his Eagle, he has focused on school activities (academic bowl and robotics competitions), his internship, and his academic course load.

We are in Dawson County.
We typically get about 2-3 admitted to Tech every year. His entire friend group is shooting for Tech. About 10 very impressive young men and women.

The women will get accepted first.
ETA- not being a smartass. My sister in law graduated there. A man with her credential/grades/etc wouldn't have made it past the mailbox. They bend over backwards to let women in. Until someone sues them, it will continue.

Since 2022 (my oldest's senior year), I would put it at 80% male from our high school.
My oldest actually wanted to transfer to Tech but they put a hold on computer science majors for 2 years. Just long enough to close him out of his window.
He graduates this December and is likely to take his degree to the US Air Force.
My youngest would try to transfer in as a sophomore if needed. KSU bought poly a while back and they have become a good feeder program.

That 80% is probably because girls don't tend to apply to tech school.
Does your son play DnD?

Agreed. Lots of English majors.

No. All but my die-hard Dawg probably spend a good amount of time on video games (Minecraft, roblox), though.

The only time I ever saw anyone play DnD was at Russel Hall.

He loves me.
He has been decked out in UGA gear every Saturday through fall and January for 18 years. He could care less about the game. But in our house, we control the outcome of the game by how much gear we wear.
He's a good kid.

That's awesome - he was leaning chemical engineering for a while and then he took AP Chem and changed his mind to AE for the time being. Always subject to change.

As it should be. Either one of those would be awesome.
Hell, I started out as a music education major. I quickly realized that I would end up as a school music teacher.
I couldn’t think of a more depressing future, although I have a lot of friends who loved it. So off to the Army Band I went. Spent three years active, and played in an Air Guard band for 19 more, so I got my playing done.
Being flexible is the best plan.
