Insurance won't pay for a new fence?

They'll pay for it but if we do the work ourselves it will cover the deductible for the rest of the damage to the house but we'll see. The adjuster should be there today so we'll find out how this is going to go.

Same.

My crew has already cut and cleared two 60 foot trees that came down. One was very difficult work because all the shrubs and little trees aroubd it. The bigger tree was easier cuz it fell in a clearing.

Santa Rosa County especially Milton and Gulf Breeze got hammered by winds. Have a number of friends down there who say it is a war zone.

When it was obvious the storm was over, we loaded up and drove to Atlanta for the game. I read on a GT Facebook page a post by a dude who was pissed the school didn’t push kickoff back several hours because there was going to be wind gusts of 30 mph.

When I rightfully ridiculed him they suspended my account until tomorrow.

I then deleted the group. I will tolerate no candy-assed pansies.

In his defense, the CCP shuts down State sponsored events when the wind is above 48 KPH.

My wife and son also went to the game for a little bit. The weather was pretty trash but he is a senior in High School and Georgia Tech is on his advisors list of schools she wants him to visit for engineering programs so we took him to visit while we're in Atlanta. Didn't stay for the full game but did get to see the campus and look around although it wasn't a full campus scheduled visit.

He's leaning toward
Florida

The rest of the list
GT
UCF
Vandy
Auburn
West Florida

Primarily looking for Aeronautical Engineering. We have already visited UCF and Vandy and he's already applied to Auburn. As parents , we prefer UCF at the moment but all of his friends are going to Florida. UCF has a pipeline to NASA and is located near a lot of space related jobs so that's our fave but he's making the decision so we will visit them all. Florida schools would be less tuition because he fully qualifies for bright futures in Florida and he already has the GPA / ACT and SAT scores to get into all on his list but we will see if they accept him when he applies and what kind of financial aid each offers and go from there.

I am visiting Georgia Tech with my youngest on Friday.

4 kids and none of them applied to UGA. The 1 die-hard UGA fan is finishing up nursing school in the spring.

It is karma because I never applied to West Point.

Was in Pensacola for Ivan, and I'm back just in time for Isaias.

Was very fortunate. Currently live in Stonebrook Village in Pace and got power back in 23 hours, just in time to watch the Georgia/Bama game.

Three trees just missed the house. Have some damage, but nothing serious.

Don't feel too bad. Two of my boys married diehard gators and the other married a buckeye.

Will do. I keep a collection of golf balls I find in my backyard. May have one of yours (you can probably reach my backyard from the first tee).

The course is getting back up to speed pretty quick, fwiw. At least from what I'm seeing.

Does your kid go to GBHS? I have a Niece there who is in the top 10 in class. Hard to pass up the Bright Futures in Florida.

That's awesome and yeah neither one of my boys will likely even apply at UGA. Hope your kids enjoys the process. We have Auburn and Florida left to visit and see what he decides. I've heard good things about the Florida campus so if he ends up at Florida I can't be too mad at it. Good luck to your kiddo. Huge step in life is picking the school for higher education.

Yes he goes to GBHS.
Shes probably in honors or taken classes with my son I would imagine if she's top 10. My son is in competition for salutatorian if he can keep his grades up this last year. He has no shot at Valedicatorian - someone passed him freshman year and even with above a 4.9GPA he hasn't caught her.

I like playing there - it's a solid course and a great price for a round in comparison to all the courses over here. I play at Tiger Point and Hidden Creek more than anywhere but I actually may play Stonebrook this weekend because both of my home courses are closed. We shall see if Stonebrook is open.

They are putting in the work, and most of the debris seems to be centered around the homes. I've walked the course twice since the storm, and I think it will be open by the weekend.

Just a guess.

Thanks. My kids are like me. They don't do a huge application process.

I applied to UGA and no where else.
My oldest applied to Kennesaw and no where else (computer science).
My 2nd oldest applied to UNG for nursing and no where else.
My 3rd applied to Kennesaw and no where else (computer science).

My youngest will probably apply to GT and Kennesaw. 1490 SAT, eagle scout, took AP Calc AB and BC his junior year and got 5s on both. Is currently taking 2 GT dual enrollment courses including a math right now. We want to feel confident about GT but it is that challenging to get in. He wants to do robotics, but he is interning at a civil engineering company last year and this year. He is going to setup a backup with KSU just in case.
