It would be one of the most bitter and painful losses we've ever experienced if UGA goes undefeated into Auburn game in Athens and loses by a FG. I'm going to vomit thinking about that scenario.

Well, we've had plenty of practice at dealing with monumental losses

We have a week off between Clemson and SC so SC is a win.
We don't lose to TN, not at home, not after last year. By then Gurley would have put fear into a lot of schools on our schedule and Mason will have calmed down and lost his jitters.
Only big if/loss is AU. Malzhan is a clever coach, gotta give him that. But Pruitt may have some tricks up his sleeve and surprise all of us with some shimmy shakin.
I'm not overly confident on Mizzery away but hopefully I'm being paranoid

10-2 seems realistic with most likely loses to SC, Missouri or Auburn.

If you look at our schedule we have a very favorable schedule. Playing Clemson at home and the trouble they are going to be having at QB with Stoudt Watson or whoever I like our chances in a close game. A week off before South Carolina breaking in a somewhat new QB. A cupcake before Tennessee, on the road with Arkansas and Missouri we could still win both. Both us and Florida have a bye we could very well lose to them and Auburn at the end of the year. Kentucky on the road? Come on if we lose to them we shouldn't be allowed to go to a bowl game much less step on the field of the SECCG
Vanderbilt at home I hope we stomp a mud hole in them fools.

I'm with you here, if the Dawgs get past the Vultures undefeated they will be bonded and solid for the rest of the season only getting stronger for each game.
Things aside I am ready for some football this year and sick of the off season antics of this place.

1983... #5 UGA 8-0-1 vs #4 Auburn 8-1...
Auburn wins 13-7...

My gut tells me 8-4.
It all boils down to Mason.
If he's consistently as good as he showed during the comeback against tech, then we're looking at 9-3.
PLUS
If Pruitt has seriously turned some shite around we're maybe looking at 10-2 at best.
This year I think our fundamentals aren't what hurts us. I believe we play good, disciplined football without the HUGE errors. Auburn has us beat on talent, that game is gonna be a tough one. Although we're losing in the series, it's also bullshite they got 2 home games in a row.
I feel like we didn't make other teams earn points last year; it was feast and famine for them. We either made very good plays or very very bad plays and allowed a crazy amount of yards.
Gurley's injury last year could be a small blessing in disguise only in the idea that he's got something to prove to the draft. If he had a crazy good year last year and not have been injured, we may be suffering from a bit of Clowney-syndrome. Luckily that won't be the case.

The trap game is in Arky/Mizzou since we have to go there this year. Tennessee is a home game and I feel like our boys will want to get even. Kentucky is NOT there yet. The only other loss I could see happening is either SC close or Auburn close.
However both of those teams have lost key pieces. We are getting SC early when they are breaking in a new QB and defensive pieces. We have Auburn at home and we nearly beat them last year without all the injured players. Not to mention CJP will teach our secondary to just knock the damn ball down that close to the end!
As I stated on another board:

I think the East will be improved and has a chance to be deeper than the West this year.
Georgia has a week off before the SC and Florida game this season? Clemson, SC, Florida, Mizzou, and Auburn have lost key players to the draft. We have a new DC that has proven he can win big games with his scheme and his expertise is our weakness a season ago so I look for improvement there. We have coming back what I think is going to be a bad arse front seven on defense. We are dedicating more attention to special teams (And I think this McKenzie kid we got out of South Florida could be amazing on ST). Even with the crappy D and injuries four of the five losses from last season were a TD or less (I say again, "with all the injuries!") now we are getting back all our injured and our defense will be more experienced and hungry.. That could help us.
For SC Dylan Thompson is a great QB and I see him doing well if they can keep him upright. He's a true pocket passer though and no threat to run but when he came in he produced. They also have MDavis so their backfield should be stout. I think their defense will be good but will miss the pieces they lost. This is just me but I think since Ellis left their defense has slowly been dropping off but they seem to put together a good game.
Florida gets all their injured back and keep in mind with them in they were good even with a mediocre offense. Now they may have the scheme to get them over the hump. Their obstacle is their schedule. Yikes.
Look for Vandy to fall a lil (Due to lost pieces and Coaches) and Kentucky to rise under Stoops. He should field a lil better team now that they have had a year to learn things his way and he's gotten in some good pieces to fill in the gaps in production.
Tennessee is drinking the coolaid and really starting to believe. They've done pretty good recruiting and should be better but I can't keep from thinking they drop a couple this year that they shouldn't.
Mizzou will be good dispite their losses... maybe a lil weaker on defense but no dropoff in the QB department. They have seven home games and bye weeks before the Georgia game and I think A&M so thier schedule is nice and easy.
The big question for all these teams is who gets the injury bug next???

Auburn
Mizzou
USCe
Tennessee, Florida, and Clemson are 65-35% We should win, but losing is very possible.

I don't know how long you've been a UGA fan (or of any team in the state), but being a pessimist is one of the smartest things you can be.

We are stacked at WR and RB, our OL should be better, our D should be much better, we are returning virtually everyone. If Mason can be at the very least a good game manager and moderately accurate, it's going to be damn hard to beat our talent.
Auburn and UF will be our toughest 2 games. If we win those, we've very likely run the table.
Clemson lost both Watkins and Boyd, McDowell and Patton, plus a couple starters on the DL and OL, along with a couple LB's and two starting CB's.
USCe lost Clowney, Shaw, Ellington, Quarles, Sutton, Legree, and like 4 other starters. Literally all their best players.
Missouri lost QB Franklin, their 2 best WR's (plus I think their upcoming star WR is suspended for the year, right?), their best pass rusher in Ealy, 2 starting OL's, plus a starting CB and ILB.
Tennessee and Kentucky suck. So it's going to be about Auburn and Florida. Both of which lost a bunch of people as well, a lot more than we did, but they are wild cards with new coaches at UF and Auburn still has most of their offense returning, except their star RB.

That's just retarded.
We'd have to have major season ending injuries all over the place to come close to that.
