Pollack talking about the QB battle and says Stockton is a special player. Starting to get excited about G-Day.

What do you guys think of this? Any chance Beck loses his spot? What happens to Vandagriff?

I hope it's Stockton.

As far as any other info. I'm not your guy.

I could honestly make sense of any of the three. I like our room. As far as preference, any other year I might say “If it’s close go with Gunner for the future. Take some lumps with him this year knowing he’ll be better because of it”

But going for the 3peat? Man give me Beck if he’s one millimeter ahead of the other 2. I want the 3peat. We have a legitimate shot. Go with the best guy period.

Don't care.
Had sex (2 time natty)

I will trust who comes out of camp.
And if they lose that trust, I will hope the backup does what UGA backups do (Fromm over Eason, Stetson over Mathis, Stetson over Daniels).

I worry that fans get too caught up in "sides" and "wants" when we really just need "best player to play".

The biggest issue I see is if Stockton is QB1 coming out of spring do the other two hit the transfer portal?

Regardless of who ultimately gets the job, I do think the battle will genuinely carry into fall camp, well beyond the transfer window.

We went through that in 2021 with JT v Stet. Will the same guys step up again?

I think the #3 will transfer in the next portal period after the #2 is named. 1 and 2 can carry us until the next QB class arrives.

I've said the same thing since I saw him up close in 2021 at the Corky Kell 7 on 7 passing camp.

He just has "It" He'll win the starting job coming out of fall camp IMO

When was the last time we had QB1 finish the season as QB1 following an offseason QB battle? Statistically whoever starts the season won't be who finishes. Being named QB1 may be the kiss of death.

Everything I'm reading is that Carson Beck is a "clear" #1 right now. Gunner is behind BVG quite a bit also in the 3rd spot.

I can also tell you from sources close to both the team and the family that BVG isn't going anywhere prior to January 2024. He's on track to graduate in December and probably leaves then as a grad transfer with 2 years eligibility if he doesn't win the job.

I'm with whoever the Coaches decide is best, they know more than me...

Did love how comfortable Beck looked in CTM's system when he came in last year, often against other teams best.

Looking forward to see what happens.

I have no opinion until I see them all play in season. A D'wan Mathis might look like the answer in practice but be hopeless in real action. If I were forced to decide on a QB for the entire year I'd go with Beck. With our weak schedule, Kirby has the luxury of being able to play them all.

I read a Mark Griffin article where he got Jake Fromm’s take on all three QBs. It was awkwardly clear that Fromm tried very hard to be impartial and nonpartisan, (unsuccessfully) but the cliff notes of his analysis break down like this:

-one qb can run and has a strong arm to make the deep throws
-the other qb is a larger and more athletic version of Stet with a strong arm
-and the other QB he spoke about like he was the smartest highest IQ and most prepred and dependable QB hes ever seen. He prrovided a longer and deeper analysis of this particular QB than he did for the other two QBs combined

Conclusion: For whatever its worth, it is clear that Fromm believes that Gunner is the mf’n man

Its on, sons

For the record, I totally believe Gunner will be a damn good starter for multiple years at QB and he may just be the best QB on the roster right now.

BUT, I firmly believe Beck will be the starter for the duration of this season barring injury.

Call me a pessimist. Has some Tebow in him that might translate well at the college level. But… tbh… and many probably won’t admit it… nothing he did in HS etc SCREAMED Heisman or Elite. I’ll be the shithead here and that’s ok for me

The one time I saw Gunner play he was trying to run over linebackers. That isn't gonna work as this level. I hope he realizes that.

Again… he could be really good. It’s also cool to the likes of Bowers, Delp, Smith, Thomas, etc. Not to mention the future Carolina Panthers starting O-Line. Maybe his legs are the difference?
Beck looked like a totally different human this year though. I also believe he is MUCH more athletic and we haven’t seen his full package as of yet.
