Think Butts Mehre was built in like 1985 if I recall. It still kinda kept us in the same general area and a walk from thr Mac. Basketball, baseball, football, gymnastics and track were all right there. For the life of me, I can’t remeber where the girls softball was located in the 80s.

Third from left looks like she narrowly missed getting her head cloven in two.

Boling ran a 10.2 this weekend at Texas relays and jumped 26-3 in the long jump which I think is 7th all time in the history of HS.

I think they have plenty of room down S.Milledge at the soccer/softball complex. Hell, at one time Ears was mentioning that location for the football IPF.

ah memories of playing travel soccer there as a kid.

Saw this article on Boling today... LINK

Worth noting that the kid and his family really dislike the "White Lightning" moniker that is dropped often online. Personally don't think I've used it as it just sounds kinda goofy, but beyond personal opinions would be good if we can all remember to at least attempt to respect their wishes as well.

ETA: not that anyone has here... just more of a PSA

Let's name something else the Butts Mehre name, seems like a practical joke gone awry. Wally butts was a fricking moron anyway.

Sinkwich/Walker Center just sound's much better. Hell based on his reputation , maybe The Stetson Benett Center.

Definitely need a new track, we should move off campus and build an indoor and outdoor facility maybe out by the Jack.

This makes room for Kirby's heliport, and enormous waterfall, and a BBQ pavilion for the Football team. All necessary to recruit these days.

See no reason to demolish a 10500 seat arena only to build another. The latest renovations have done wonders for a building I thought should have been turn down back prior to the Olympics.

Think Foley field needs more bling as well though it is nice for it size just not elite.

Does anyone know if a new weight room for the football team is in the works. I am always amazed by Bama’s when I see it and hoping to see something along those lines one day for UGA. Thought I read something one time that they were in the talks but haven’t heard anything since

Yes, being fundraised for. Expected to be an $80 million project and include a new track grandstand as well. Will be a 2 story weight room and then some (I believe new offices, meeting rooms, etc)
