So we just got the shelter at home order in SC. So we’re all locked up in our homes and they closed any place you could actually go with your family to get out....parks, state and federal forests..even neighborhood tennis courts. Which are places you can easily separate if you’re not a moron.

BUT...as Tucker noted tonight, we can all still go to the grocery store...the one place you know everybody in the neighborhood will be going over and over....and work ...which is broad as shite.

We have 44 dead in a state with almost 11M people.

"In late January, President Trump's economic adviser Peter Navarro warned his White House colleagues the novel coronavirus could take more than half a million American lives and cost close to $6 trillion, according to memos obtained by Axios."

We're about to see European countries (Austria, Denmark, then others who handled this well) start opening up and restarting their economies.

Folks are looking at the US and wondering what the hell we're doing. My speculation is we might see folks implement travel restrictions with the US listed at the top.

So now you want to listen to an economist over “the expert epidemiologist” Dr Fauci? Goal posts are moving more....cause Dr Fauci in late January didn’t know how it was transfered from person to person and had this advice.......

this is not a major threat for the people of the United States and this is not something that the citizens of the United States right now should be worried about.”

I have two....but I am retired and they are both out of the house. Have been for awhile. That said, I have had 6 or months worth of Emergency Fund for many, many years, well before my kids were out of the house. I probably had the emergency fund since they were in grammar school.

Again, I am not saying it is easy. But, if you run out of money right now and have a car repossessed, or lose your house, or have to use the credit card to buy stuff, you will wish you had not eaten out as much, or gone to the movies, or gone on less extravagant vacations.

With that in mind, my wife went to Italy for 24 days on vacation 7-8 years ago, and when this Coronavirus thing gets out of here we are wanting to go to Switzerland, or Austria shortly after the next Thanksgiving to see the Alps and go to the Christmas markets.
Choices we made years ago will allow us to do that kind of stuff with no worries. We pay cash for our cars, just bought a lot in NC in the mountains overlooking Lake Chatuge. You can live for today and sweat the rest of your life, or you can build and plan for the future and still live fine today.

The key is investing early. It makes a ton of difference.

(We also THINK we will be able to leave my kids about $500,000 a piece when we are gone. My son is excellent with money and he will be very well off. My daughter is not as good, but she will be fine, too. She lives in Amsterdam, and is dating a Dutch guy. He's a great guy and they are notoriously frugal.

What? You do know that it got here later than most of those countries, right? I mean....we are also in a much larger, more populated country than those. You have a link to that article? I'd like to see who exactly is wondering what is going on.

You are on here talking about how bad it is going to get in the future due to the way it spreads, and other countries are wondering why it is not over in the United States and we are not getting back to normal?

I don't know what you've been watching, but a lot of these countries didn't get their first confirmed case until mid/late February or March....They also have a larger population density as a country than the US. I get that we have some big population density in cities, but just pointing out facts of when they got it and population density as a country.

I seriously doubt anyone in Europe is thinking this. Most of those countries are JUST NOW flattening their curve. The tiny ones may have it about beat, but no one would know because no one reports on their tiny asses.

That said, I’ll tell you what’s concerning. We’ve currently got two patients in Athens from Albany. We keep transferring people in from other overrun systems and where will Athens area people go? Hopefully it’s slowing down here as it is in other areas.

I'm not a liberal but the posters you call liberal have been calling for people to stay safe at home. Trump and his followers want everyone to go back to work and hope for the best.

Predicting a Trump catastrophe isn't the same thing as wanting one.

You got it arse backwards as usual. Social distancing is saving lives. That’s literally the intended goal, and hopefully it works. Now, what about that link I posted?

I want him to Listen to anyone who takes pandemics seriously. As soon as shite hit the fan in China, there is zero reason to not prepare for it.

This will eventually have to happen no matter who is in charge. We can’t shutdown forever, and as long as the majority of Americans are uninfected, we are vulnerable to a massive secondary wave.

Hopefully (and imo, relatively likely) far more people have been infected and recovered than is currently known.

He shut down travel to China and put together a task force when only 2 people in the US had it and his "top epidemiologist" was saying that it was not a big deal for the US. He quarantined those that came back from China and the ACLU shat all over him....
Democrats were all over him for the travel ban to China as xenophobic and then pissed on him for not consulting more people when he banned travel with Europe. He tried to get a Stimulus bill passed, but the House Democrats stuffed it with socialist and climate agenda stuff. The Senate democrats delayed it another 6 days. He allowed corporations to do the right thing before taking authoritarian rule on them, or woulda been shite on for that. The death toll from this thing is going to be less than the flu 2 years ago and we fricked our economy for it. Now you want to do this every time a new virus (thousands a year) come out....You are out of your fricking mind. You hate America because OMB. It's sick, its worse disease than Corona, it's called TDS.
