I haven't heard this as official? Do you have a link?

No, but I doubt either school pays him that much. I think 1.5 is probably our ceiling of willingness.

I can't envision a scenario where Pruitt isn't the number 1 choice for DC at Bama. It'll be interesting to see how this plays out, because I think he'll be the top guy on both boards now. I would imagine that Alabama will be able to offer him more money, but could be wrong on that
Saban's MO for D is to bring in a young guy and teach him his system. Bama radio guy said Pruitt was an unlikely fit fwiw. But you never know.

Guys, I hate it but even if Champ does go to USCe and Bama goes with another DC, Pruitt STILL may not be our guy in 2016.......
Rumors abound. I do not say it lightly because I hate hearsay.

Well, that may have been his MO...but seeing as he hasn't been faced with this hire in 9 years I'm not sure that there is any way to tell if that's his current preference. Saban has changed with the times, I think he's just interested in getting the best results..not tutoring a protege

My understanding is that although Pruitt didn't burn his bridges when he left Bama, he did leave quite a few scorch marks behind. Saban may not want him back.

That's pretty telling isn't it? That Bama is willing to spend much more than Georgia on football? I'd venture to say that the expenses are probably what's skewed that number so highly in Georgia favor...yet Bama still managed to be more profitable as an athletic department. Maybe the key is spending on your cash cow and not penny pinching

You won't get an argument from us on that.

He just wants to win man. He hired Lance Thompson after he left Bama for Tennessee, bad mouthing Bama all along the way. He hired Lane Kiffin for christs sakes. Petty, perceived personal issues clearly haven't factored into his thought process on hiring recently. He just wants to win, that process starts with recruiting and Pruitt is good at that.
I'm not saying Pruitt is coming to Bama, but if he doesn't it won't be because he's a meany head or burned bridges or anything like that

I think it's been asked twice in this thread already with no response...but does anybody have any valid sources on Muschamp going to USCjr? The closest I can find is this:
LINK
Is that what we're going off of, or is there more?
For the record, I don't want him and would be glad to see him go to Columbia.
quote:
Auburn defensive coordinator Will Muschamp officially interviewed with South Carolina officials about its vacant head coaching position on Thursday night.
Sources indicate that the meeting went "extremely well" and that Muschamp is the clear frontrunner for the job at this point.
Other sources went as to far as to say that the Gamecocks' hiring of Muschamp hiring appeared imminent, but cautioned that the deal was not yet done.
South Carolina officials have begun preparations for a press conference to announce the next head coach. A date and time has not yet been confirmed.

Unless stated otherwise, you have to assume Pruitt's main goal at this point is to be a HC. If he goes to Bama he could achieve that but he's close enough as it is. He may be at Bama, what, 2 years before the offers come in? Does Bama really want to deal with a coaching carousel again in that time?

Unlike the Rolling Stones....time is no longer on Saban's side.

I heard Prutt to ECU by an ECU friend. No idea if it was wishing or sourced.

It's worth noting that CJP is still under contract at UGA
Doesn't he have a hefty buyout?
We may not have to outbid anyone
